TV in Flathead Area

#15 Fan

Well-known member
Didn't see this discussed anywhere, so I'll ask: I've heard from people that the last two games were not on Spectrum or YouTube TV. I thought all games were on MTN Sports, which up here is usually either CBS, Fox, ABC, or occasionally The CW. I don't know about satellite, just specifically related to Spectrum and YouTube TV. Anyone have any insight?

Be gentle if it was on TV, this is just what I have heard multiple people asking. Thanks!

I am in the Flathead Valley and no the last two games were not on the filthy Spectrum cable.
Had to watch the last two games on ESPN+
Filthy SWX (channel 199 on SPectrum here in the Flathead) had the filthy Albany vs. Idaho game on instead of the Griz game.
Scripps and Spectrum need to pull their stinking heads out of their back sides to get this fixed.

When they say MTN now, it’s not the MTN we’ve all been accustomed to. It’s now a streaming app. Here is a link…https://www.mtnmontana.com/bigskyfb-schedule

If the game is only on MTN you can get it over the air (antenna) in selected cities, on Direct TV, or streaming on Direct or FUBO. It’s not on your local cable provider (Spectrum mainly). Super confusing.

Bottom line, if you’re even a casual sports fan just get ESPN+ and give up the Florence Coffee drive through for a month of the year. 😉

This. If you're a sports fan (ans particularly an NFL or Fantasy football fan) eapn+ pays for itself the first month. For those of us outside Montana, it pays for itself the moment they kick on opening day.

That is great that there is streaming but there are a lot of us old timers that are not all that up to date with the internet. I know many people in their 80s and 90s that are life long Griz fans and are really upset that they cannot watch their favorite team play. Years ago before the streaming was even available we watched every game either in the stadium or on TV. Then the Conference started negotiating the TV contracts and we had Root TV or CBS now we get basically streaming only. Go back and let the local stations broadcast and let each school get the best deal they can rather than sharing with the lower level schools in the SKY.

I don't have tv anymore so I don't know if this helps but the CBS affiliate for Kalispell back in the day I think was KAJ channel 8/18. I think KPAX basically took over KAJ's coverage area.

From https://www.kpax.com/big-sky-confer...he-montana-grizzlies-vs-morehead-state-eagles:
Local Broadcast (Antenna)DirecTV

Thank you all for the replies, this makes sense. I knew MTN was going to have streaming, but just assumed it'd still be on Spectrum/YouTube TV. I have ESPN+, but one of the people asking runs a small restaurant with multiple TV's and they have Spectrum, and they don't really have a setup for their TV's to run streaming congruently. They'll just have to get with the times I guess.
