As far as I am concerned, the playoffs begin this Saturday. If we can't beat the Cats, we don't belong in the playoffs with winning teams!

Thank you thank you thank you! Pleasant surprise to see a rational griz fan. I've said all along that it's lame to expect the griz to make the playoff field after losing four conference games, i.e. going 500 in conference play. I'm not even saying you wouldn't be better than some teams that make it it, but just more that you couldn't get it done once in four tries, couldn't prove it or close the deal, not deserved.

If the committee thinks we’re a better team than the other bubble teams despite 4 losses, then we’ll get in. They’ve said as much. There are absolutely going to teams that are convinced they deserve to be in who won’t make it this year, and probably teams sent through that many people feel didn’t deserve it. Also, we play in an unbalanced conference, so conference standings don’t mean as much as you might think. If you guys played our schedule, there’s two more losses between Sac, UI, and MSU that weren’t there. You’re currently one game better than we are against similar teams.

I personally don’t think we deserve to get in if we lose, but I have a sneaking feeling the committee thinks we’re better, even with a loss, than a lot of the other bubble teams. Hopefully we win and don’t have to worry, though.

I like to go into the playoffs just as much as anyone. What I don't like is, the one and done thing. Win against' an inferior opponent in WAGriz and then on the road and get killed. It gets old getting ones hope up for bigger and better things only to see them dashed on the road.
However, get in and anything can happen. This I get, but lately nothing good has happened to a Griz playoff team on the road!
Yes, if we get in, I will be in WAGriz and probably on the road too, I am a fan, I just don't have confidence in Roseys offense!

The fact the Griz did as well as they did, on the road, against two top-5 teams with a backup QB....that's all I needed to see to know we can compete on the road, and probably would've won those games with the right backup in the game. Agree to an extent with what you said, but this year is different.

Well, it IS interesting that in none of the prior losses did we have a healthy starting QB. And it’s questionable as to whether we’ll have one on Saturday. WITH him, we’re definitely top level. Without him it’s questionable. What’s sad is that the team is built like that. With any kind of dependable 2nd string QB we’d be 9-1 (Idaho is still a huge WTF), but it is what it is. If Johnson is healthy we can make some serious noise. If he goes down or can’t play for some reason, all bets are off.

This Griz team ain’t getting “killed” in any game. Regardless of who the starting QB is.

Why would a team, the Griz, who are currently ranked no. 13 in the STATS poll, not "deserve" to be in the playoffs (24 teams) if they lost on the road to the no. 3 team in the nation, in the rivalry game? What would that loss have to do with whether the Griz are one of the top 24 teams in FCS. Of course, the Griz are one of the top 24 teams. My guess is that only a blowout loss by the Griz would keep them out of the playoffs.

Pretty clear there is no team/s that are head and shoulders above the field this season. With a healthy LJ they can beat anybody, won't contemplate about the alternative. :argue:

The state college game has always been the most important game of the year to me. I think all focus should be on the game tomorrow instead of worrying about the playoffs.
