Turn The Corner

Time to turn the corner. Season complete. Most believe the Griz exceeded expectations this year given the context. What are your hopes or priorities going forward?

Mine include:

1. Lock in recruits...particularly lineman on both sides of the ball.
2. Enhance the running game. Playoff football requires excellence here. See #1.
3. Win the conference...get a seed, and play December football in Montana.

Lots to do...lots of hope. But gotta improve.

Not sure if this football team will be better next season. They lost a ton on the defensive side of the football and both kickers. I believe the O-line is years out from being competitive gotta get better players. I think they take a small step forward on offense and two steps back on defense and special teams which equals not as good.

I think offense will be light years forward. Not really sure about defense. I trust Ty will put a solid product on the field tho. Always has

This program is re-building not re-loading as some think. My first concern is Tye and Legi are here next year. Secondly is the lack of depth on the defensive line and at the safety spot. Then there is the offensive line and qb. Neither was good enough nor deep enough. IMO this team has some big shoes to fill so expectations shouldn't be high for next year which might be a reason to try and get a younger qb and let him grow into the "system." Time will tell but the team will go through some big growing pains in 2016.

Mine include:

1a. Lock in recruits...particularly lineman on both sides of the ball. More specifically Defensive lineman to stop the run (see Cal Poly, Portland State, NDSU games/losses for evidence)
1b. Figure out the Quarterback position and who will be playing in 2016, playing in 2017 etc.
1c. Recruit / fortify the offensive line starters & depth and get some DOLA.
1d. Enhance and improve the physical conditioning program for Griz athletes, especially OL.
2. Enhance the running game. Playoff football requires excellence here. See #1.
2b. RB Depth and speed and strength - partly related to 1d.
3. Win the conference...get a seed, and play December football in Montana.
4. Special teams coaching and players. Kick coverage against NDSU, and field goal kicker

Lots to do...lots of hope. But gotta improve.
Thanks to the Seniors for your leadership and dedication to UM. We appreciate your efforts in 2015 and the wins you generated. Thanks to the Juniors and Sophomores and redshirt Frosh for buying in to the new program and coaching staff's philosophies. Thanks to the New 2015 recruits and potential recruits that are presently considering UM, for seeing what UM has to offer on the field and in the classroom. 2015 was filled with successes, and just enough reminders of what improvements are necessary to get to Frisco.
