Try to stay positive???

Why? Unless a miracle happens and the staff pulls their collective heads out of their asses, we lose 2 more games this year, maybe 3. Play-offs are not going to happen. The Griz are 4-3, a .57 average. This team, with this scheme, will be 6-6 by the season's end. What has Mick done? One decent season with one sub-par one and one losing one. Enough is enough. This staff's inability to utilize the talent that they have is such a shame. It is really sad for the seniors like JJ, Canada, Van, and the rest. Especially JJ. What this kid has been through to come back and compete is astounding. He has done all that only to be let down by the coaching staff.

I will never blame or talk crap about a player. I will always blame the staff for not utilizing them correctly. Can I do better? Nope. I would probably drive the Griz to ruin because I am a pedestrian fan and have never played the game at a high level. But I can spot a shoddy product. That is what the staff have made. They have taken diamonds and tuned them into poop. They have taken some of the finest athletes in the FCS and squandered them. Before any of the Eags fans hop on, if VA were playing for the Griz, he would be in the same position. Luckily he is in a system that takes advantage of his talents and does not waste them like Mick and the staff have done.

In total agreement PDX, this team shows no signs of life or improvement. I don't know what the deal is, but the team seems to forget that they are the Griz, and the teams that play the Griz still treat the game like their Super Bowl. The team showed very little fire today, maybe Ellis leaving didn't help that, but they coulda gone out and won it for him.

PDX, I don't disagree with some of what you said. It's OBVIOUS, Montana has big issues on offense, and yes, the buck stops with coaching. BUT, if you think Jordan Johnson has any negative feelings towards Delaney or the scheme, you would be about as wrong as you've ever been about anything in your life. JJ would walk over coals for MD. They are extremely close, and he'll run any play he's told to go out and run. PERIOD. But don't take my word for it, ask JJ yourself.

I have one positive regarding the staff. Our defensive coordinator is owning up to that epic defensive failure. Ty admitted the defense sucked and he is embarrassed at the way the defense played. He did not blame the players either. Granted, I hate when any team I like struggle, but I do like seeing the men in charge take ownership over it.

I have a feeling the defense will be smacking the hell out of opponents rest of this season.

Serious ?, have we yet to hear our offensive staff take ownership over shitty performance? I honestly don't recall it under this current staff.

I saw JJ tonight look over to the sidelines, palms up shaking his head, to me that body language looked like he thinks the coaches don't have a clue. Also when we are trying to get a drive together at the end of the game, the coaches aren't even smart enough to just call a play and go for it on 4th, they had to call a timeout. So hav, are you hoping a whole bunch of Egrizzers run up to JJ after the game and ask him how he feels about Mick. Mick stood up for JJ and supported him during his trial, and JJ is a classy kid, so he is not going to bitch about his coach to a bunch of fans.

Ok. So I am sitting here depressed and angry after watching that game. I am very frustrated and I proceed to read your post. I needed a damn laugh and man you gave me one. Hilarious. Absolutely true - but frigging hilarious.

Did not imply or say that JJ has any negative feelings for MD. That would surprise me. What I DID say is that MD and co have, in my opinion expressed on a message board, let JJ and the seniors down.

I regret the need to laugh in this instance, but I am happy to oblige!

Wow! It seems hard for some to understand that Montana is just not that good. It's not just coaching and not just players. On offense we lack any resemblance of a tackle and a coach to stubborn to know this( ok boys let's run off tackle because we have to establish the running game). On defense we lack size at the linebacker spot. You actually think Brown would run that b gap laugh in Tye's face keeper all night if Coyle were standing there? Let's see we miss a 38 yard field goal after a decent drive to end the first half and then a big fat shit down the leg second half. Now I realize that egrizers are much more adept than I but I'm here to tell you that The Montana Grizzlies are not that good and for your info neither is half the Big Sky Conference. I am grateful to be a Griz Fan but the reality is this team is not a championship caliber team. With that said I really think a coaching staff change is in order. Just like Jack Johnson it's time for Mick to call it a day and Montana get some swagger back in its step.

I think all of the yelling and screaming at his players like Ty does is having a negative effect on their performance. Have you seen him in practice. I know that I always tuned out a coach who was a screamer.

Accurate post, but just like broccoli, it is hard to digest...... :?

I think the best way to defend that option would have been to play a nose tackle over the center to help stop that dive. Should play like 5 men on the line. Van Ackeren going out sure seemed to change things. Playing former safeties as linebackers does not make alot of sense to me, but they have done pretty good, I don't think Kose is the future at MLB.

Also, JJ has the go-ahead from the coaches to make adjustments and change plays. He's also involved in suggesting plays for the game plan each week.
