I am pretty sure this is the 1st one I have seen in person & that includes almost 100 NCAA tourney games & a shit ton of Griz games. Way to go Kareem!

I think Dave Guffey, Associate AD, Sports Media, who was running the PA tonight, said that was the first by a Montana Grizzly player in his 34 years at the University. I find that hard to believe, but if anybody would know, Dave would. Maybe he meant at Dahlberg Arena, which had over 5009 tonight, and the Griz responded by playing good basketball.

Thanks for showing up, fans, and congrats to Kareem, and the entire team and coaches! Keep taking care of business.

Kareem has always had a well rounded game, and offensively, may be our best playmaker. He is a better passer than Cherry. If Cherry takes that part of his game to a higher level, he will be in the NBA.

Kareem, and Cherry are so fun to watch play both ends of the court.

I am glad the team knew his stats. Jamar was a little disappointed early in his Freshman year, when he was one rebound away from a double, and he was pulled. Tinkle later admitted, had they known they would have given him a chance to get it. :thumb:

Outside of his freethrow shooting early in the game (which he remedied), he was pert-near flawless tonight.

A fun game with a rowdy crowd, you know it's going to be an interesting night when you've got Hawaii players yelling at the fans, Hawaii coaches yelling at the fans, refs yelling at the fans... lol.

Hawaii has a lot of talent but doesn't put it together well into a single product on the field. Additionally it was apparently obvious that their coaching staff has little control over the team based on the several player/coach and player/player arguments that occured during the game.

Overall this was a well put together game by the Griz, some defensive lapses but overall a solid win, the way Hawaii was talking trash and playing cheap I do wish the Griz would've put 100+ on them, but it's all good. Hopefully Selvig's injury is just a bruise, he was holding an ice pack on his forearm near his wrist.

I think that was my 1st Griz home hoops game since I went and watched Rocky play the Griz in the late 80's.

This team is fun to watch. Cherry is the quickest I've seen live in a long, long time.

Remax, we were down in the south end zone, what was the deal with Hawaii/refs yelling at the fans?

I'm not too sureabout the refs, but #5 on Hawaii kept taunting the student section when he would make a basket. My friends and I, in the student section, thought it was hilarious since they were down by so much though. The only thing I can say about the refs is that I did see them talking to the cheerleaders. It looked like the refs were telling the cheerleaders that they were standing too far forward, and that they needed to move back.

Also, congrats to Jamar for the Triple-double, there was a small chant for it, but I don't know how many fans realized it had happened initially.
