Travus Lulay looks solid in BC opener loss

Caught some of the 4th quarter on NFL. He had better than 350 yards and the PBP crew were very complimentary. The redhead looked in charge as in his Cat days. Man! Those end zones are bigger than Missoula County.

It was a very entertaining game. Lugay played great in the losing effort. The first half was all Montreal and the second half was BC's. it was fun to watch live football.

so i never have watched much canadian football. are there any other crazy rules or weird things besides the ridiculous goal post in the front of the endzone?! so dumb....

Sidenote for Griz fans: 3rd String QB is Mike Reilly (QB from CWU that gave you so much trouble). He beat out several QB's including Cal qb for spot on the roster.

Good for Travis. The thing I always respected about him is that he is such a gamer. "Give up" is two words he does not know. Last year watched him in a game in which he came off the bench and darn near pulled out a "W" for BC. Also Mike Reilly---as I recall grew up in Kalispell--- was also very impressed with him when they (Central Wash) played us in Missoula. Reilly had poor protection but he would deliver the ball so fast (and accurately) that it didn't matter much. We were lucky to win that game and it was all because of Mike Reilly.

so put the goal posts in the back and kick a 45 yard fg from the 15?

love the cfl and it's wide-open style of play. maybe thats because i've been to 25-30 cfl games and 4-5 nfl...

Yeah saw that. Too bad it didn't work out with the Steelers or Seahawks, or wherever he was

He was with the Seahawks and Saints.

I am OK with the wider field, bigger endzones, people in motion on offense when snapping, 15 yards for a first down but if they simply went to 4 downs I think it would be an easier game to watch. Of course I think that if they eliminated offsides in soccer that it would be a much better game to watch -- and that isn't going to happen either.

“He has the physical ability, plus that intangible you can’t coach — leadership skill,” Reid said. “You can’t always find it. But you feel lucky when you find someone who has it. He has it all. He’s Dave Dickenson — one of greatest quarterbacks we’ve had here — in a bigger, stronger, more athletic body. That’s Travis Lulay.

In case anyone in this forum cares about how former Griz are doing in the CFL (Roughriders):

"Cole Bergquist replaced Durant at QB with 2:00 to go in the third. The receivers were Nunn, Hill, Sisco, Smith and Brown. Brandon West the RB. Durant was 19/29 for 178 yards with one pick.

-- Chris Leak relieved Bergquist at QB for the Riders with 8:27 left in the game. Bergquist was 3/7 for 20 yards. Leak hit WR Ernie Wheelwright with a 46-yard pass on his second pass. The Riders lined up a 38-yard field goal for Christopher Milo but he missed again, going for a single. 20-6 BC with 4:59 to go."

Craig Dickenson is now coaching special teams for the Roughriders.

Reilly, not Lulay.

And he was originally signed by Pittsburgh. Then Green Bay. Then St Louis. Then Seattle. Now BC.
