I doubt coach Hopkins won’t be going anywhere for a while despite their being last in the PAC-12 with a 15 and 16 record this year.
Last year he signed a 6 yr. contract extension for $17.6m. Yes, that would be as in million. His buyout would be tough to deal with.

They let Romar stick around forever, great recruiter and rarely got anything done with it. A lot like UW this year. I'd bet Hopkins won't get 10 plus years to produce no matter the contract.

Travis covets one job, University of Washington Huskies. He grew up in the area and would love to go home but right now his intent is to build a Mid-Major power in Missoula. I’ve heard, but can’t confirm because I’ve not heard it from him directly but his family really likes the school system and it would take the right job at the right time to lure him away. He even purchased a home in the Rattlesnake last year. With incentives he can earn north of $500k.
Not to knock Tinkle because I thought he was a very good coach while at Montana. The difference I see between Wayne’s game management vs.Travis is Travis has a better understanding of both sides of the ball. What Travis accomplished, along with his assistants, with the young team he had is remarkable.

Makes sense for him to wait for the right job if his family is happy here. 500k goes a long way in Montana and he has plenty of time to hone his coaching/recruiting chops without the pressure of trying to produce at a major conference bottom feeder. Got to think he'd jump at a Cal or Stanford even if UW was his dream destination.
