I puked in my mouth that he left for MSU. After bleeding Griz maroon for 12 years, after getting a chance at UM when others wouldn't give him one following his incident, and after 12 years of supposedly hating the Cats, I find it very strange he would go there. If he was forced to take another job because Stitt basically showed him the door, then why not just say that. It makes more sense and people would have understood.
Instead he goes on and on about his man crush on Choate and how he can get him networked and tied into better coaches to have a shot at coaching FBS some day, while at the same time our other Griz coaches have no problem landing FBS jobs directly from the Griz...hell Legi did it a week after Ty states that. I think I just hate the Cats that much man.
I think people should just accept what he said. He took the MSU job because of Choate and who he was hiring, as well as for family reasons. He had one or more FBS opportunities, including Hawaii. He chose to stay with his commitment to MSU. I agree that most people flinched when he went to MSU. So what. He's his choice. People go to rival organizations all the time. I don't know how often it happens in sports. Pflu went to Weber. Hauck apparently applied for MSU job. The prior Cat head basketball coach (Huse) left UM as an assistant to go to MSU. Was he a traitor too?
I'm still not buying it. I heard that yes, his name was passed around and he was recommended for the HI job but was never officially or even unofficially offered. Guess it doesn't matter a whole lot now but you make it sound like the job was there for his taking and that wasn't the case.
You don't have to buy it, but it's true, and I am 100% certain. I always find it funny that people who have little or no information or little or no clue, want to dispute things that others know are true.
