Mike Sophia of the Sacramento Sports Commission, which is helping the university scout locations, said all sorts of sites are under consideration –even a conference center at McClellan Park in North Highlands.

“You can build a pretty nice college basketball arena in a ballroom
,” Sophia said. “We’d love to have an option for them here.”

Oh.

My.

God.

Please. Someone remind me what we're doing in this conference! A f-cking ballroom??!??!?!

"Sorry, Kayla, we've gotta move your bat mitzvah. We've got a basketball game to play, here. Hey, think that chandelier is gonna get in the way?".

I agree EverettGriz, this is appalling! Maybe you should start a petition.

I already have.

It's entitled, "Get us the f-ck out of this complete joke of a conference littered with directional colleges with shitty facilities and piss poor leadership who can't figure out how to develop a schedule or hire competent officials".

Some may consider the name a little lengthy or cumbersome, but I feel it captures perfectly the essence of the league.

The best site for the BSC tourney, men and women, would be Reno....Bad for North Dakota and Northern Colorado but good for SAC St. Idaho, Idaho State.Eastern, Montana, SUU, Weber and MSU should they make it that far.

Here's a thought in line for the thought process of the dim bulbs making the tournament location decision.......

Ely Nv. highschools gym will not be in use in March, and it holds 500. The place would look...almost packed if it was shown on TV....and its right in the middle of the ....."Big Sky"......cough cough...Geographical area making car travel accomodating for everyone.

Well hell if we are having it at a highschool in Nevada you all are welcome here in Winnemucca! Right along I-80 easy to get to. Nicer Gym then sac st. :thumb:
Reno would be best option in all seriousness though!

This place already holds three basketball tournaments in the three weekends leading up to the NCAA tourney. All 3 of which will have better attendance than a BSC tourney.

Fly to Vegas, and/or Drive to St George. Nice venue, Decent weather, golf/outdoor activites ,and a decent facility if it were to be available.

Terrific golfing in the St George area. One of the best courses I ever played was in the early 90's. At the time I think the course was called Golden Springs. It was pretty new then. One of the most frustrating par 3's I ever played was there. I think it was a 120 to 140 yards across a canyon. The green was elevated and sloped back toward the canyon. Long story short, to date the only time I have ever hit a green at the flag and have a ball roll back off the green into the canyon. I took an 8 on the hole. At the time I was a 6 or 7 handicap. Many great holes on that course using the winding canyon. LOVED that course. I hope someone will know the course I am referring too.
