I'm often confused by the math of DOLA: 2/3 of the players you mentioned were here last year and we had Moses Mallory who was applauded on his arrival for "having a chip on his shoulder" and "playing to the whistle", "finishing his blocks" and "possessing a real mean streak." So wouldn't we have exactly the same amount of DOLA as last year? Unless Brown and Casey have increased their personal DOLA's or Walker has more DOLA than Mallory did?

Forbes is a stud. Mayginnes is much improved. He did get stood up on a few run plays which was a little concerning. One that was a double team on a zone play. His last play was a great finish that was followed by a stupid moment. He will learn.

Walker looked better this game. A little more speed and showing his strength. Overall I loved what I saw from those guys yesterday minus a few mistakes.

For a guy who hasn’t played Oline, walker is sure learning very quickly. And his leadership is noticeable. I see him high fiving guys and being a vocal leader pretty often. He might be our best pickup this off season. Brandon Casey and Liam brown are apso improving weekly. I like how fast our guards look when pulling. Much faster than in recent years

For what it's worth, Walker was a first-team All-Nebraska selection as an offensive lineman by the Omaha World-Herald and a Super State pick at OL in high school as well as a consensus top five recruit out of Nebraska his senior year. As I've pointed out previously, Grimsrud was also an all-state O-lineman in high school despite being recruited as a D-lineman, and will be a good one for the Griz. As to the rest of your post, imagine that. These young men (only one senior among them) have been working their asses off and are now older, stronger, and becoming a better unit with lots of room to improve. Talking with coaches and players and watching practices, none of this surprises me.

I tried to shed a little light on this group before the season, including Walker, and their potential going forward but was basically told I must be a parent or one of the coaches because there was little to be optimistic about and the coach was terrible. I think their best football is ahead of them. Not saying they are anywhere near a final product, but working hard each week, and certainly not the undersized, hapless, no diet-plan, poorly coached doughboys with no division I ability group that some on here decried all off-season like some sort of obsession, before ever giving these boys a chance to prove themselves. However the season goes (I've already stated I believe this is a semifinal team or better) I'm proud of these guys. Go Griz!

Uneducated fan’s perspective here, but I agree - it seemed Walker really looked better overall compared to last week.

I also love the attitude from Forbes and Mayginnes. Brown is a work in progress but did show some aggression out there too.

The Griz had some DOLA last year, but has more this year. The most since 2009. This is on good authority.

Not the entire post. Most of the post is from someone who stood on the sidelines in junior high unless he went out for a team like Hellgate or Livingston...(they had to cancel their season because not enough went out to field a tea.).

Most posters in a sports chatroom claim to fame is that they got athletes foot or crotch rot in junior high.
