I talked with Hogan tonight before the game.I mentioned that it seems like allot of people want to fire Kennedy already. He said that he knows this as many people consider themselves experts in basketball. He said that it takes several years to build a winning team after having a mediocore team for many years. He also said that the fans expect a winning team immediately, whoever the coach is.
I wish I would have thought of it at the time,I would have asked him how a mediocore team can consistently be in the top third of the BSC & be in the playoffs every year and this year the Griz are in the basement of the BSC. I wonder what kind of Answer I would have recieved.
I suspect that if things keep going the way they are, there will be allot of pressure to get rid of Kennedy. Only time will tell.

Griz are having internal problems right now, and appear to have given up this season. My dad sat by Criswell's grandfather or dad, and he said that there are some internal problems. Didn't say what they were. Possibly coaches fighting each other.

Anyway, Griz played good for about 3 minutes today, gained a 14 - 5 lead, but things went south. Eagles went on an 18 - 0 run and Griz gave up and went through the motions of just getting the game over.

I hope you all are satisfied with an 8th place finish. With the internal problems that are going on and players playing like the season is over, I cannot see them winning another game. Pessimistic it is, but this team has gone down hill totally.

I also have heard of internal problems in the athletic Department from two sources. the second source seems to have allot of inside information as that person verified what I have heard from my first source.
I'm afraid that if what I have heard is true & becomes public, somebody is going to have allot of explaining to do. It will not make all of the Griz fans, especially all those whose consider themselves "true Griz" Fans very upset and probably call for some peoples heads.

usmc67-what sort of internal problems? Also, the GRIZ only finished over 500 one time in conference during Holst's 4 years so we really haven't been consistently in the top third of the BSC. This isn't to say things are fine now but things have not been fine for quite a while.

Internal problems just means that the team has a lot to work out, nothing really specific. There are many issues that are off the court, but they just stem from the fact that the team is having a tough time playing together. It's been extremely tough on coaches and players alike this year, and there's a lot of frustration going on. Please don't read too much into what good ol' Gordo (Kevin's dad) might be saying. He's basing what he knows from what Kevin says. I know Kevin is to the point where he's not having fun playing ball right now, which would reasonably upset his dad. I really think that the stress from losing so much, after all this hype, is straining everybody involved.

If I'm Kennedy, I make lemonade out of lemons in this situation. You've got a bunch of individual-oriented players, so why run a team offense? Why run a zone defense? I would run a free-lance offense with on-ball pick and rolls. On defense, just run straight man. That way when a mental lapse occurs, that person is held accountable. Try to ride your talent into the Big Sky Tourney and then see if you can cause some damage if you're able to squeak your way in. Let loose on the reigns, and enjoy the ride. At least with this mentality, your players start having fun and maybe some of this pressure goes away.
