Vandals spell 'GRIZ' on MSU football field
By Chronicle Staff
Vandals broke into Bobcat Stadium over the weekend and used a fire extinguisher to spell out "Griz'" in five-foot capital letters on the football field.
Donna LaRue, the acting director at the Montana State Police Department, said Monday she was unsure of how the suspects got into the stadium, but they probably jumped the fence.
The fire extinguisher used to spray the letters was left at the scene and the discharge killed the grass in front of the booster stands near the south side of the stadium.
LaRue said the only costs to the school will be to get the grass back into shape, and it shouldn't be a problem to fix before the season starts.
"It really doesn't look that bad," LaRue said. If anyone has information on who may have damaged the grass MSU police are asking they call 994-2121.
Judging from the 5 foot capital letters, I'd say our friend HORNET is the prime suspect.
