Tinkle getting early minutes against UConn

Do y'all think the number of wins the Connecticut women have amassed in a row is even comparable to the University of California Los Angeles men, pards? I heard the announcer say that they had "topped" UCLA. I think that might be pushing it a bit.

Yesterday was her 20th birthday. Wayne wished her happy birthday in his post game. Nice to see her getting some quality minutes. I would like to see her get a belated present and beat UConn.

I'm rooting for UConn -- but I totally agree with those who mention that (most) men's teams could take a lesson from (most) women's teams and learn how to shoot free throws.

Mr &Mrs Tip spent a ton getting daughter through Stanford so it's obvious where my sentiments lie.

Congrats to Miss Tinkle. She is playing with a lot more confidence this year.

As far as comparing the UCLA men's team to UConn's Womens team I think that they have an awful lot in common in the approach it takes to get on that sort of streak in terms of their preparation and being able to mentally be ready to play each game.

If you compare where Men's basketball was 30 years ago to where Women's basketball is today they are at the same point in their development. So yes UConn's Women's streak to me is the bigger accomplishment when you look at their dominance.

I do think that John Wooden's impact on the game and touching people's lives will never be matched.

The wins are comparable, but Geno is not even in the same league as John Wooden when it comes to class. Geno's EGO is the size of Mt Rushmore.

ITS WOMENS BASKETBALL. Heck 75% of Basketball fans don't even know who Geno is. Geno step up and coach the boys if you want anyone to give a rats ass. Even in UCON Geno cant carry the Basketball coachs jock strap. Note to ESPN if I wanted to watch womens basketball I would have hit the down arrow on my remote and watched ESPN2. Why carry the game on both channels? 30 Years ago ESPN a great idea today just a pain in the ass.

Suspicions confirmed: The women are better at the line. Wayne should make this "must viewing" for the men.

I thought I had finally found an unsexist thread on eGriz. Right up until I read the last few comments.
C'mon. How many times has a woman been dismissed on this board?
Kudos to Ms. Tinkle.

Hell, Ms. pard, how is pointing out an obvious difference between womens' and mens' basketball at all sexist? If the two games are the same, then why do they segregate based on sex?

Women play with a smaller ball than men; I apologize for my blatantly sexist statement.

Women are dismissed on this board on regular occasion, and I have NO use for those who do so. It's sad ... and sexist ... and lots of other bad things I won't mention. For what it's worth, although I was rooting for UConn because I've done so for years and years, I wish Jocelyn all the very best with Stanford (even if I'm not cheering for the Cardinal).

Hell, pard, I agree with you wholeheartedly that women should not be dismissed, but I don't think it's sexist to posit that mens basketball is different than womens basketball, and therefore, the records are distinct.
