time to get behind him...

We are always bragging that we have the best fan base. So getting behind the new coach is what the best fan base does.

I will honestly say I wanted Hauck back, but in no way will that have an effect on my support for coach Stitt. I hope and think he will become a solid head coach for the Griz, even if there is some growing pains along the way.

Welcome Coach Stitt!
That's the proper attitude. None of us know how this new hire is gonna work out. You never do.

Personally, I'm excited simply because he seems like a pretty neat young (not really, but from where I sit ... :) ) man who can relate to college-age athletes, the media, and the fans. Of course, CSM does not have a huge fan base, but those they have seem to like him.

And, from a PR stand-point, UM is already benefiting from this move: http://www.si.com/college-football/2014/12/13/bob-stitt-montana-football-coach

There may be no follow-up now that it's actually happened, but how often does Montana get a headline at Sports Illustrated? (As I recall, they gave the Griz one or two paragraphs when they won the NC ... and that was it.)

Welcome Coach Stitt! Prepare to.....uhmmmm, well just prepare yourself. You aint never seen anything like this before.

Montana loves their football. That is all.

Exactamundo! :thumb:

We all wonder if he can handle a D-I program, plus all the high expectations with it being Montana football. I'll bet -– deep down, in his "heart of hearts," as they say -- even he wonders how things will work out.

But he's what we've got ... whether you agree or disagree with the choice. I personally like it, just because he seems like a personable fellow and thinks football could benefit from some "outside the box" thinking. (I know. That's an over-used phrase, but it offers a core of truth.)

So, as the thread says ... time to get behind him ...

I also welcome Bob Stitt as the new UM football coach. I know little about Coach Stitt except what I see linked here at eGriz, but from the information presented, Coach Stitt appears to be a thinking, innovative coach.

I join all others at welcoming Coach Stitt and wishing him great success.

Finally, I am glad we were not subjected to a revisit from Bobby Hauck, and I also hope Coach Stitt can minimize interactions with the jackass President of UM (who has been a terrible influence on the football program).
