Time for big city writers to whine

Well. Well. Man do I love this time of the year. This is when all the supposed "know it all" writers chime in about how certain teams should not be in the field of 64.

Of course after half of those teams beat an invincible team, we never hear about how the writer was wrong.

Which publication (ESPN, Sporting News, CBS) is going to make the biggest arse of themselves?

My vote is with the writers at CBS.

I'd go with our faithful friends here at egriz (myself included), but no one's really made any comments in that area just yet.

I'd have to say espn. Lots of articles = lots of chances to screw it up.

The Local scribes here in Montana take first prize, because they write nothing at all, as though the Griz do not even exist!

Thats why I ignore them. I focus who is in the Field of 64.

I don't see much of that in the national media this year. In fact, the only teams that can legitimately claim getting snubbed are Miami (OH) and possibly the Golden Domers. (Of course, I'd job the Domers every chance I could get!)

But the biggest problem I've seen are the Maryland trolls invading the UOP message board because they think that UOP getting worked by Utah State cost them an NCAA bid. Heck, if they had taken care of business in conference, they would have made it. It wasn't the Tigers' fault they're in the NIT.

Yes, UOP choked. The thing is, they've beaten ref-engineered fixes before. I don't know why the Tigers unraveled during this one. I do admit that you have to make your wanting to win obvious when the fix is on. UOP usually does that. This time, they did not, and I don't know why.

Anyways, good luck to the Griz in Boise. I have UW winning, but I would definitely LOVE to eat crow on that. If UW can experience what the Stanford women did a couple of years ago (I think it was them, anyway), I would be very happy indeed.

Hornet or TigerCasey, the USU-UoP game was not fixed. USU dominated the boards, and the Tigers outside shooting went ice cold. End of story.
