California recruit at first uncomfortable with the thought of "stepping out of the California box" and playing at the University of Montana: (But has changed her mind after visiting/signing)
===============================================
"At first I was uncomfortable with the thought of playing at the University of Montana," Ware said. "I didn't think that I would blend in with the team, the school or the coaches. But as time went on and I began to speak with Coach Selvig more and more, the more comfortable and relaxed I became.
"When my father and I visited (in October), I'll admit that I was scared. But that all changed after meeting the team. Everyone was so welcoming, and the coaches had such a cordial presence about them. As we carved pumpkins at Coach Selvig's home, I began to feel more and more a part of the team, and that is what I was wanting the most.
"Visiting the University and the city and the people, I was able to imagine myself being there for the next four or five years ... and that brought me a lot of joy. Signing with Montana was very unexpected of me to my friends, but I believe this decision is the best one I have made in a long time. Stepping outside the California box is going to be great for me. I know Coach Selvig and the Lady Griz will ensure that."

Can't blame her for her initial hesitation, life in California and Montana is incredibly at different ends of the spectrum (sheer population and pace). But I am not suprised at all that she liked Montana after visiting. They are both different places, but they both offer a lot of good things.
A little on Bakersfield, California:
Bakersfield is a large city at the southern end of the Central Valley of California, United States. It is one of the fastest-growing large-population cities in the USA, and is located roughly equidistant between Los Angeles and Fresno, 110 miles (180 km) to the south and north respectively. As of 2008, the population was estimated at 328,692[1] within the city limits, making it the 11th largest city in California and the 58th largest city in the United States according to U.S. Census estimates. The Bakersfield Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) has a population of 780,711, making it the 65th largest metropolitan area in the country. It is California's third largest inland city, after Fresno and Sacramento. The city's economy relies on agriculture, petroleum extraction and refining, and manufacturing. Bakersfield is also the 11th fastest growing city in the United States with a population of over 100,000, and the fastest growing city in the United States with a population of over 250,000.
