This year would have to be it for McNeese

Looking at McNeese States roster tells a story, 17-18 seniors. I don't trust my counting as I was scrolling down the roster. This has got to be their year or else.

Here is what makes me giddy! We have only three seniors playing and one is our quarterback. Now usually that is a serious spot to replace. Not next year, Craig Ochs coming from U of Colorado. Will he be just a Sophmore? So really only two spots to fill. Otherwise the whole team back. We are very good this year and we have a lot of HEART, but we are very very young and we've been devastated by season ending injuries. Next year we will be awesome! The the year after that also. I don't see anything but NC appearances for the next few years. We will dominate 1AA. As if we haven't already gotten a pretty good start, 4 NC appearances since 1995 and 2 National Championships.

Here is what is really SAD for McNeese and GSU and the rest of Div. 1AA, this was supposed to be a rebuilding year for the Griz and we're undefeated! HA! It's a rebuilding year and WE ARE UNDEFEATED!! He He..

Will Ochs be a sophmore? NO. Will he be Junior? If he gets his Medical Redshirt, which he may already have received. Will he be all that he is advertised to be? We shall wait and see.

So if he is everything he is reported to be we've got him for two seasons barring season ending injury because the equipment manager is a "CHEAP SKATE".

Every post from Colorado has stated he is awesome, and an inspirational leader. You calling all those nice Colorado people possible liars???

2 things to think about.

First, with the exception of a 1989 GSU team and a 1996 Marshall team, no team which participates in the playoffs have gone an entire season without being beaten at least once. There have been quite a few teams get to the post-season undefeated, and most have lost somewhere down the line, including the 1998 Eagles who went into the final game at 14-0. Perhaps the 2002 Griz edition is one of those elite teams, that will be determined in time. Down in these parts, we like to get our losing out of the way early :)

Second, if you think the next two years will be a cake-walk for the Griz and full of domination, you are selling a lot of other young teams (including my Eagles) short. We're starting quite a few sophomores and freshman now, and while it might not be our year this year, we will be in the hunt for a while.

Excellent Eagle22......

I'm looking forward to some excellent games with you Georgia gents. I only wish we could get a home and home with you on our regular season schedule. Make no mistake we'll be there the next couple years. I hope you live up to your potential and join us for the fun.

The eagles playing in the frozen tundra. I hope not! We dont do well in the cold.

If a home and home would happen with GSU or McNeese for that matter, it would most likely be scheduled in September before the conference season started. So you wouldn't have to worry about packing your thermals or worry about your players getting frostbite and losing all their fingers and toes. lol

Basically till playoff time our football Saturdays are not too bad. In Sept. games usually in the mid 60's to low and sometimes high 70's. Oct. brings game temps in the 50's to low 60's. Nov. can be mostly mid 40's, sometimes warmer. Dec. is the dangerous month, you never know when the Canadian express will swoop down and send the temps to mid teens with a wind chill of around zero. But you can also get very pleasant 35-40 degree temps with nice sunshine.

If we scheduled GSU for a non-conference game it would most likely be a Sept. game. It would be a great matchup.
