This is a press conference by an elite head coach

Is he contractually obligated to be nice to reporters who ask dumb questions? Nope. It’s not how I would handle pressers but I don’t have a problem with it. Everyone has the right to ignore him.
Given the controversy with the school newspaper during 1.0, I would have thought that being “respectful” with the press would have been covered in his “job duties” before the rehire.

Regardless if you supported BH in that episode or not, it was a black eye for the University of Montana. No one person is more important than the organization.

We have all seen head college football coaches get after the media but for Bobby it has been a pattern and it appears he thinks his opinions about dealing with the media are more important than the image of the university he represents. I don't know of any college head coaches who consistently portray their distain with reporters and fail to recognize that they are ambassadors of the university.

Yeah, that was impressive. Another thing that stood out to me was the questions. None of this “How important was it to…” or “How great is it when…”.

Curt Cignetti "You have to be uncomfortable to grow."

"No self-imposed limitations to what we can accomplish."

"Improve as much daily as possible."

"Everyone thinking alike."

"I'm a football guy. My hobby is football. It's family and football."

"Finding the edge."

"Having the edge."

"Having the right mindset."

"Making sure complacency is not setting in on your organization."

"It's a process. It's a way of going about doing things. Its a standard. It's an expectation. High standard. High expectation. It's accountability. Discipline. Commitment. Toughness. Work ethic. Pride. It's wanting to be great versus wanting to be normal. Normal is average. Average is okay except in my business. In my business, average is the enemy."

Curt Cignetti on recruiting "Never really looked at stars EVER." "Focus on evaluation."

Curt Cignetti on transfers "There are going to be people in this conference with more resources." "Gotta form the intangibles."

"At JMU, our best transfers were from FCS schools. The worst transfers were Power 5 guys."
Curt Cignetti is seeming more and more like the next Nick Saban.

Various coaches go after the media.

This is such a great statement.

National press reporters don't ask ignorant, loaded questions, designed to get a knee jerk response out of Bobby, unlike Montana sports reporters. Missoulian leads the pack and has for years. Same assholes, different day. Bobby reporting 2.0 started at the Wilma Theater debacle with Missoula Rises.
