This feels like a stretch

Let's face it, they need all the help they can get.

I hope that a good share of their recruits were defensive players. They were horrible on that side of the ball.

247bsports is working with incomplete data. I suspect their umbers will change. They were going off early commitments and not those that actually signed today. For example they show PSU with 26 commitments, of which 5 were 3*.

They show Weber with 9 commitments and 2 being 3*. We signed 12 and 7 were 3*. Plus we have 2 three star walkons.

247 is just able to quantify more of PSU's recruits is all, doesn't mean they have a better class. It's really hard to accurately discerned two FCS recruiting classes and which one is better because so many of the commits, like in Montana's case, have no rating. You primarily get rated by attending camps where there evaluators are present, and thus are awarded a rating. They have a tough time rating what they cannot see, especially when kids are in a region that's not traditionally talent rich. recruiting rankings at the FCS level dont mean much as recruiting services, like 247, spend the large majority of their time evaluating and studing the top 500-100 prospects nationally, almost none of which go FCS.

Recruiting rankings for the FCS level are garbage. If those guys were any good at evaluating, they’d be working for teams.

PSU seems to always have good classes on paper, yet if never translates to anything. Their coaching staff always let's them down. The real question is why an good player would want to go player for them... kinda like EWU. Doesn't make sense.
