It puts the standard daily egriz bitching and sniveling into perspective.

Yeah, the bitching at Michigan made sports-talk radio and TV (Sportscenter, I think) this morning.

I hate to be "that guy", but given recent national and international events, I'd say that picture is in pretty poor taste.

Yup, its not going to end well there.

The strange thing is the same thing happened to JJ and nothing was said (except on eGriz.) They now have not only a board certified Neurologist on the sidelines, but have decided to add one to the booth as well.

Very poor taste that image, but you see that type of stuff on the bigger school forums occasionally. That's what kind of cracks me up about here. Some people get bent out of shape over minor criticism like it's way over the top. Meanwhile on sites like the Michigan one, shaggybevo (that site is hilarious btw) and other big football forums they get absolutely brutal when things aren't going well for their team. Kind of shows you how tame things really are over here, which is nice!

Have to say though the shaggybevo forum has some hilarious stuff :P

You can't be "thin skinned" and survive on those type of fan boards. That's for sure. Michigan fans think they're in the running for Harbaugh. We'll see. My question is will Hoke last the season?

Hey Michigan Fans! I bet ol Rich Rodrigez looks pretty good about now. He seems to be doing pretty well with Arizona. Too bad they didn't give a chance to establish what he wanted to in Michigan. They might actually be relevent if they had.

Kind of makes me think of when my Huskers fired Solich because 63-7 wasn't up to Nebraska standards...would be happy to have that back at Nebraska now.

Michigan football fan insanity is right up there with UCLA basketball and the bulk of SEC football. They expect....no, demand weekly +30 point victories, perfect seasons and national championships.

Potomac Griz - Is this one of the shaggyevo threads you were thinking of? This almost single-handedly made up for all the BS that the internet provides.

I don't think I've seen that one before. Will have to read it, it looks pretty damn good

The Statue Thread over there was what convinced me to start lurking on their forums a bit. It turns into photo shop battles on page 5.

Hey Michigan - You are pretty irrelevant. Just like most of the northern US teams are anymore. Sorry to break it to you.

Shaggy Bevo probably has the funniest threads on any college football message board.

The article got called out for its picture, and here is a response:

We agree. The University of Michigan is a public institution legally and morally bound by the First Amendment, and an image like this—which cannot reasonably be interpreted as a threat—is no less protected just because violent incidents sometimes occur at schools, or because of recent tragedies in the news. Further, newspapers contain disturbing content all the time; that’s the nature of reporting on real news. And of course, it would be an utter waste of time and resources for campus police to look into every article or image in the newspaper that someone finds “disturbing” by some allegedly “common-sense” standard. More to the point, it’s a dangerous attack on newspapers’ First Amendment rights that can only chill their expression.

It may be their First Amendment right to post any image they want, but it makes you look like an asshole for posting an image like that.

Oh, and another person was beheaded today by ISIS...

Probably should go through museums and text books and censor those too. Fu#$%^& history being all historical and stuff. It's clearly a representation of a guillotine and not a bunch of Muslims.

I have to agree with dupuyergriz on this one. History is brutal, gruesome, and no different than the present time.

If you really want to see tasteless, have any of you seen what Alpha has been doing on his site. This is pure poppycock, glad he doesn't post here anymore with this garbage.
