The worm is turning

It was a big win! No doubt. But this historic win over FBS ranked Washington isn’t the only major development of the opening week.
If I’m not mistaken, the recent FCS Poll with the Griz now ranked 4th marks the first time in more than a decade that NDSU didn’t receive a first-place vote. And it is also the first time in more than 10 years that the Griz are ranked higher than the Bison.
I gotta believe that this massive upset victory is going to bring more fans to Washington Grizzly Stadium, and not just this coming night game vs Western Illinois, but likely all season. If the Grizzlies can keep this momentum going on the field, and in the stands, this win over Washington could go down as the day we all look back at and say “That’s when we turned the corner and really did return to dominance.”
The last 10 fricking years have been a hard trudge through deep swamp for the program and the U. But here we are, with a new Academic Center that is paying off big time, a swanky new Champions Center that is paying off big time, our new OLD coach is back at the helm and the Athletic Director just marked his 10th year on the job!
The Griz arrow is pointing STRAIGHT UP. The Bison no longer dominate the FCS landscape and the road to the Natty is wide open. The worm has turned and it’s time for the Griz to take control!

There are a lot of programs out there that would kill to have the level of success (and the revenue) we've had in the last 10 fricking years.

Well, yeah, that’s true. But we’re the Griz and the level of success the past 10 hasn’t been sufficient. That’s why the Griz mantra lately has been Return To Dominance. The UM administration has worked hard to improve the infrastructure off the field, and on the field we’re finally showing signs of RTD. Meanwhile the Bison have fallen off and the rest of us are catching up. Go Griz!

It's not hard to imagine the positive impact this win will have on recruiting, especially in the western Washington high schools we hit so hard.
