During all but one of those 17 years (when a revered Don Read filled in) Montana has had athletic directors the administration ultimately wound up firing. Is it the AD's, the people who hire them - or both? I don't profess to know the answer, but 2 out 3 for an otherwise successful program begs for some kind of explanation.

Wayne Hogan 1995-2004 Financial "irregularities"
Don Read 2004-2005 Reputation unscathed
Jim O'Day 2005-2012 "...personnel matter..."
