The tough pre league schedule isn't an excuse any longer.

I keep hearing that the Griz are having such a poor season because of the tough schedule. And before league started it was said, wait till league, then we'll be playing teams at our level and we'll start winning.

Well I think it's just one of those years. Suck it up guys, keep a stiff upper lip, we stink this season. Hopefully next year we'll fill the needs and do better.

Right now I don't think anyone...coaches, players or fans really has a good idea of why we're playing so badly. There are a few things that are definately contributing (players fouling out all the time, terrible assist to turnover ratio, the fact that Cummings and Seyfert are averaging 3.0 and 2.6 points per game respectively in league play) but I don't think anyone can really explain why those things are happening. Sometimes it seems like we're just suffering from a terrible case of bad chemistry. We have a lot of talented players...but for some reason they just can't seem to play together.

I believe many of the players aren't working very hard.

An example:
Our leading rebounders have 102, 100, & 96 rebounds on the season thus far. The fact that one of them is 6'2" & 185 lbs is not acceptable. If I was a big guy and I was being out rebounded by a guy 3/4 my size, I would make it a point to improve. This also shows what hard work will do for you. Imagine if one of our big guys showed the same kind of effort on the glass. I guarantee they would have at least 10 boards a game.

The great coaches talk about how important intangibles and hustle plays are for a team to win. I have seen 11 of the 19 games this season. I'm beginning to wonder if some of the players on the team have even heard of the word intangible.

I know some of the guys are trying really hard. I think part of the problem is our offensive schemes. Cummings and Seyfert really haven't been taking a lot of shots...which therefore makes it pretty hard for them to score very many points.
