Ok, what I'm about to say is going to sound utterly absurd, but I do have a small question. Why does a state this size have two major public universities and a 4-technical school? Nebraska, Missouri, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Louisiana, Maryland, New Jersey, Connecticut ALL have much larger populations but consolidated their flagship and land-grant institutions into one university. Why did Montana and the Dakotas decide for two with a population that is miniscule fraction of those other states?
