The Sky is not Falling

I don’t consider myself the eternal optimist but, before we count this team out we need to look at the things we know:
The Griz lost their coach/AD last winter, and their starting Quarterback this summer.
The Griz’s three losses are all to top 25 teams:
two of those losses are on the road
two of those losses the Griz had the leads until they took their foot off the gas
The Griz turned the ball over 4 times against App State, and had a chance to tie the game on the last play.
The Griz turned the ball over twice in the Red Zone against Eastern, and if Henderson would have gotten down or out of bounds they would have had a chance to win on the last play.

Yes the Griz secondary is horrible, and yes the Griz coaching staff seems a little outmatched, and yes they can’t turn the ball over as much.

Every Griz team I have ever seen play, has gotten better by the end of the year, and I don’t see why this would be any different.
All I'm saying is I would not be surprised if this team wins five in a row, and comes into Cat-Griz Week 7-3, and then at that point anything could happen, especially since it’s at WaGriz.
Keep your heads up!

Of course the sky is not falling. The Griz are uber-talented (probably the most talented in the BSC) and are obviously just as good as the teams they lost to. Unfortunately, like any young team, they have made mistakes every game that end of costing them an otherwise great game. Turnovers and bad penalties are characteristic of young teams at all levels. I think it is apparent that they have improved a bunch since the first game of the season and have had the chance to win every game they have lost. Most years the Griz have been fortunate to win those close games and overcome their mistakes but it is impossible EVERY time. They have played the toughest part of their schedule and have a great chance to win all of their games from here on out (the Cat/Griz game will be epic but I think the Griz will have it together by then and will win). 7 D-1 wins then playoff time!!!

I have to laugh at the number of cat fans on this board trying to talk sense into Griz fans....

Lol....being a Bobcat fan (and a Vikings fan) has taught me a few things about dealing with not living up to expectations. If you need any pointers let me know :)

But on the contrary, I think this team is EXCEEDING expectations. It's just not necessarily translating into wins right now...but that'll change. :thumb:

I feel like every time a new coaching staff is put in place it takes at least two years for things to really get rolling. Add that factor into the losses we had in the off season and its really not suprising that the season has gone the way it has so far. Personally I think being able to hang in there like we have with these top 25 teams shows that we have what it takes but we are still a team that is really rough around the edges.

Check out Sagrin Ratings and the position of the #2 FCS team in the country.......no respect for
their weeenie schedule.

The real reason the Griz are doing poorly is because I haven't added my two cents of doubt. Every time in the past when I have opened my yapper to criticize, the Griz promptly shut it for me with great play...so here it goes. I am worried the Griz might not have what it takes to win and be dominant this year.

There! Now the Griz can do like they do every year and make me look stupid as usual.

They will now steamroll through the rest of the season.

Thanks man. As someone who easily could have been an End-Guard-Tackle for the Griz, I am uniquely qualified to throw out my expert opinion.

For those who don't know, my position would have been end of the bench, guard the water and tackle anyone who comes near it.
