Hard to miss...a giant banner proclaiming this weekends Griz - Cat BB game on Adams today.

I remember when this game did not need to be marketed. The days of packed houses and incredible drama and energy did not need hype of any kind. Even in some so - so years the GAME would bring a loud and large home crowd.

Lets bring back the past, last years game was fun, although I do not remember it being sold out. Support the guys, it is a long season and we have a great shot.

Last years Griz-Cat game in Missoula had 7,311 in attendance. May have been considered a sellout, but it isn't the most attended basketball game in the fieldhouse since remodel. Two other games had higher attendance. The game honoring the football team some years back, and the Lady Griz vs La Tech NCAA sub-regional game had higher attendance. The Lady Griz game still stands as the highest attended basketball game since remodel.

But, back in the days when you think the basketball game didn't need marketed, there actually was more marketing for it. Reduced marketing for basketball was a factor in attendance dropping along with many other things such as the remodel.

Anyway, better see a full house this weekend. Will have to rely on fans other than students to fill it up.

Interesting points raised, not being an insider hard to know how much effort went on to promote BB in past. ...and how the percentage or amount dollars compare to today. The remodel did not help.

The crowd at the La Tech Lady G game was the best and loudest game I remember in the decades I have been a fan.

With students gone, we need a lot of community support Saturday night.

Thanks for input....the guys are worth our support GO GRIZ!

first11, this poster is 100% with you on supporting this team. Unfortunately, many others are still skeptical. I have missed 1 home game sine Kennedy leaving. That game was NAU due to dad having triple bypass surgery. Anyway, fans please get on board now, put W's and L's aside and just support Tinks and his program. It will be appreciated and beneficial longterm for the program.

I have been comtemplating upgrading from general admission for remainder of the year. Thanks to a fellow egrizzer working with me, I purchased 1st level tickets for remainder of the home games. It was worth it to me, I want to show these guys I am there every game to support them. So I stepped up my budget to show my support. My intentions are to do this every year until a coach turns me away. Guarantee that will not be any of the current coaches or players.

Come on folks, general admission is affordable and kids under 12 can usually get in free depending on ticket sales. Go out there and cheer our boys on!!!!!!!! GO GRIZ!!!!!

mtgrizrule, you are a true fan!!!!!

Thank you, not needed though. Just want to see new faces in the seats for remainder of this year forward. :thumb:

All it took was me meeting the coaches and players when LK took over. Since then, I have been on board. I will do all I can to get fans in the seats!!!!!
