Mellott stayed healthy for the whole year for one year out of four. I don't wish for him to fail but I'm just not sure he's cut out for the NFL.
I've been beating it like a drum because no one seems to agree. And you’ve been beating that point like a drum anytime anyone mentions him and nfl at all. If you’re not hating on the kid, that’s the way it’s certainly coming across.
He's already had a terrific career. Who is Konata Mumphield? Another Cat?I've been beating it like a drum because no one seems to agree.
I mean, I could say the same about Konata Mumphield and no one on the board would disagree with me. And certainly no one would suggest I hate Konata.
It's just so strange to me that because a player's a good guy from Montana we should be prohibited from saying he may not have a great career.
Probably because no one has made the counter argument. I have not seen a single post about people declaring him a star, or starter, or anything of the sort. People have suggested that he has the athleticism to carve out a niche for himself.I've been beating it like a drum because no one seems to agree.

Every single player drafted was selected based on their potential. 100% of them.Hope he is successful and if anyone has the work ethic to make the transition and grind out a roster spot year in and year out he does.
Just to clearly understand your statement, you were talking about grading out with measurables from pro day correct? I don’t see that he would grade out in anything but speed at this point when put up against other receivers. I guarantee his footwork and route running abilities are not at the upper echelon at this point or maybe even average. He is a risky draft pick as he hasn’t played the position at a high level except reps during his freshman year. They drafted him purely on his potential. Knowing his work ethic had to alleviate many concerns associated with the risk, but could never take all the risk out. There’s been a lot of Tebows in this league, but there’s been a few Edelmans which is his and their hope.

What is your argument again?
Maybe someone will introduce him to relief factor. It really is sad to see what has happened to Troy. Mostly because the Bobcat staff, Choate mostly, were of the attitude win at any cost and Troy was their sacrificial lamb. If Troy is smart he’ll hang up his cleat’s and go home to ranching. He may not feel the effects of his injuries now but in 20 years he’ll wish he had quit. No amount of money is worth the pain he’ll feel as he ages.
Of course measurables of his pro day.Not an argument, just wanted clarification on what you meant with this
“I think the point is he is an NFL draft pick at a position where he grades at or better than many - even most...“
I have a hard time believing he “grades” out in any way better than a most of the guys drafted ahead of or currently in the league, so I assumed you meant purely in measurables from his pro day. What else can he grade out on from his film?
