The next Jabin Sambrano.. We need to sign him!

WE need to sign him to the Griz. he's 6'3 185 and very fast check his highlight tape. I emailed the montana coaches today with his game film. You think he would produce? http://www.beastfitnation.com/darnell-adams-the-freakish-231-high-school-long-jumper-needs-a-scholarship-for-football-or-track-next-year/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Ho hum... Probably Division II material. There are hundreds of high school kids like him out there.

Hmmmm... If that's thats case, most of the current Griz should be playing at Carroll. You can't teach someone to be 6-10... and you can't teach a 4.4 forty. He looks, quick, nifty and fast. Let our coaches work with a natural athlete and see what we get... please! :thumb:

Correct GrizMayor...but he's not 6'10" and you don't know what his 40 times are. Just sayin' that there are lots of 'em out there in the high school ranks. Maybe more importantly now are two other benchmarks 1) does have a decent GPA? 2) does he have any criminal issues? Those are two things that any coaching staff CANNOT work with.

What???? HE'S NOT 6-10!!!! OMG!!! Just kidding... play along with me here JUST a little. That was a basketball analogy. My kid is 5-8, runs 4.5's and long jumps almost 22 feet and triples almost 43... and he can't get on the relay team at MSU-B. I've seen kids long and triple jump... A LOT. Explosive athletes get over 23 feet, not Div. 2 hacks. You based your critque on the video, alone. I didn't see you mention a rap sheet or report card. If we're both going to base our posts on the video and his track accomplishments, then I think he's someone the Griz should give a sniff to... not complicated at all. PS: I'd like to take a peak at Jabin's video... then we have a nice baseline.

Thanks. :thumb: But after listening to his "anthem" music on his video, how did he end up in "Cracker", MT. Odd choice. Definitely had the explosiveness and agility to compete at an upper level.

were you drunk when you posted this? Jabin > him x1000000000000000000000000

I think the kid could be a very good DB. He like contact, and seems to be very quick and agile, with good ball-hawking skills. Where is his high school? I could not tell from the web site.

Newberg Oregon. 20-30 miles south of Portland. I agree.

Yah to put this dude in the same category as Jabin is just...insulting.

1. All of his defensive "highlights" are just horrendous. His tackling form is so bad, he would get wrecked in the next level. Imagine any of those tackles he made but then imagine Lex Hilliard running the ball....

2. His receiving "highlights" show nothing about route running. Sure, the kid may be fast and tall, but being fast and tall doesn't make you a football player, or else the best players would be track all stars. Jabin was a speed demon, but he also understood and read defenses.

This video does nothing to help recruit a player and hardly shows the skill level of said player. I would doubt this kid would get to an FCS team as a starter.

I was very underwhelmed by this highlight video. He shows good versatility, being able to play multiple positions, but did not stand out in any of them. Defensively he would be a nightmare to have on the field (for us!) I like his pursuit, but as was previously mentioned, his tackling could use some work. His best moments were at WR, but even then they were unspectacular, just a tall kid that can go up and get them, no real view of his route running abilities. I think he would be worth a look, maybe as a walk-on, but I wouldn't hold my breath. All this from someone who flat out sucks as an athlete.

PS- I used to play ball in his league in Oregon, the programs he played against with the exception of Tualatin are all some of the worst teams in the Portland metro area, how good does he look against Tigard, Jesuit, Central Catholic, or Southridge? Those are the big dominant teams around Newberg and would show what his talents truly are.

I am of the opinion we already have a guy that will fill the Jabin role very well. We just need him healthy for fall camp & throughout the season. His name is Ellis Henderson, coaches were really pleased with what he showed in limited time this spring. The offense is very similar to what they ran when he was in HS @ Skyview in Vancouver, WA.

I was not very impressed with the kid from Newberg. He was playing against what looked to me like inferior talent in his clips. Where's the footage from the dominant teams that he played against. I wish him all the best but my $$$ is on Henderson come fall.
