The GF Tribune takes the Cats over the Griz

silvertipgriz, you need to get your facts straight. Scott Mansh covers the Bobcats and George Geise covers the Griz. Geise picked the Griz to win and Mansch picked the Bobcats. They always do that. I have NEVER seen a bias towards the Bobcats, and no, I don't work for the Tribune. I think they give a very balanced reporting of both schools. Try reading the article again without a chip on your shoulder.

While it's true that George Geise covers the Griz, his stories have been pretty pro forma, and he doesn't come close to producing the volume Mansch does for the 'Cats. Geise's stories are pretty much bare bones, with little of the background information on the players you find in the Missoulian. I think Geise is just bored with the Griz. Mansch, on the other hand churns out tons of volume about the 'Cats, but buries all of the substance in a truly stomach-churning brand of cheerleading. Neither is in danger of being nominated for a Pulitzer. My beef is not that the Trib's coverage of the 'Cats and the Griz is biased, but that it is just not very good.
