The Dirty Little Questions You've Been Avoiding

When you fill in your bracket, will you pick the Griz to win? If you pick them to lose, you are rooting against them by betting against them. Are you a bad fan? Are you willing to blow up a bracket for the team? Are you a real fan or a bad fan? Are you willing to take one for the team? Or would you just rather have a better chance at winning the pool?

Solve this problem by buying two entries. Have a boring "reality-based" bracket as well as the "fantasy-based/utterly delusional" bracket.

As long as the Griz don't draw Kentucky or Duke level teams then they have at least the faintest of hopes in the first round.

If AJ continues to channel Reggie Miller a la playoffs vs. the NY Knicks then you never know what can happen in the NCAAs. That's the beauty and the joy of this all.....the only sporting event in which the little guys have a shot on a neutral floor vs. the big boys.

I picked them as the 12/5 upset when the beat Nevada. Then again, you KNEW there would be a 12/5 upset (and I think that year there were three....)....

It'll depend on who they draw. :)

I'll probably pick them to win the first round for the hell of it. But even if I don't, I would never, EVER root against them.

Don't know bout y'all but I got them in the sweet 16. Tough first round upset 72 68. And redemption over u-dub 68 60 in the second round.

GO GRIZ!!!

I'm still debating whether to pick them or not... I picked them to beat Nevada in 2006...and if that big guy for BC didn't get fouled at the end of regulation letting BC tie Pacific, the Griz might've been playing Pacific in the 2nd round with a good chance of going to the sweet 16..

This particular pick is going to bug the hell out of me up until I submit my bracket.. I have a couple other upsets picked already.. I'll probably end up picking the Griz to get past UNM but then lose in the next round to Marquette.. That way if the Griz don't upset UNM it doesn't cost me too many points on my bracket :) I'll be seriously kicking myself though if the Griz do beat UNM, and end up playing Washington again..because I would pick the Griz against Washington in a heartbeat (UNM scares me a lot more than Washington).

Talking about the Nevada upset is like Vermont preaching about how they beat Syracuse back in 2005. Totally different teams. Totally different players and circumstances. It has absolutely no relevance to the instant match up.

To be honest if you pick them like alot of people did.LIKE ME. what did you pick on the opp game. washington??? cause they are a heavy favorite for upseting and winning that game. if wash wins then do we have a shot at winning two? i mean that is a dream thought. BUT if we lose it will be expected by the nation. we are hot right now. and if you listen to anyone who knows basketball.....the worst things you want to see in the tourney on a opp. team is 1. Pure talent everywhere and 2. a Hot Team. griz may not be overall more talented but we are hot.

That being said. so is NM and they do have a little more talent shooting. but on the road in a odd place....even the best teams have bad shooting days. you never know, I think the griz have a shot. but the game would have to be close then at the end 10 min. griz get hot shooting and NM slow down. if its close game and we control the clock toward the end then i see us having a shot

As one who followed Alford during his Big Ten coaching days, the guy has a history of choking in the NCAA tourney. He could do it again. Who knows?

If you bet spreads (Montana +9), take the money line cause the Griz gonna shock the world. Well, New Mexico anyway.

Griz 67, Lobo's 64

Who's going to be scoring, besides AJ? Sadly, this will be a cakewalk for NM.

Well, you know AJ is going to draw attraction like metal filings to a magnet, which will put big pressure on the front line - but especially Quale in the post, who I am sorry to say is a weak link for the Griz. Call me wrong, but I think the action under both baskets will fluster him into a number of turnovers. He was pretty good on the D-board against Weber, but not so on the offensive end. Footwork and hands that fail him are the issue - and probably the difference.
