Were problems with the defense personnel or schematic? Did Griz defenses in the past give up significantly fewer points or yards or is our collective memory flawed? Has FCS football just tilted in favour of the offences right now? Ideas?

Watch NDSU play defense. It can be done.

tonight in 10 minutes.......these guys are awesome.....please pay attention for those of you who participated on the fire tg thread.......especially for those who have played the game....you could get schooled on what a well coached defense can actually accomplish....at this high level.... against the same level offensives

Defense is easy if you can:

Win the line of scrimmage and win on 1st down
Dictate to the O rather than vice-versa
Get pressure with 4 guys
Have secondary guys who won't be exposed if left in a 1 on 1 or man-free
Have experienced and smart players who can react instinctively due to film study and reps
Have a coach who is able to disguise and mix looks so that the O can't exploit your coverage/alignments/slants/stunts

NDSU has all of these. The Griz in 2013...some at times, but not enough.
