The Character Issue

yes most coaches are very understanding of press after horrible defeat. Geez, majority of football coaches are not touchy feely guys with media. This topic has amused me for years. Its unimportant in the grand scheme. We lost in devastating defeat and people are worried the coach is not a people person. Good god. Not high on my list of the state of the team.
This topic has amused me for years as well but obviously in a different way. I personally think Hauck's lack of common courtesy has hurt him over the years. His complete lack of respect and condescending attitude for the media members asking legitimate questions of him is a huge turn off for a lot of people. Does anyone remember Don Read, Mick Dennehy, or Joe Glenn acting like that? What about Jeff Choate or Brent Vigen whom have both kicked his ass in recruiting and on the field recently? If you had a son that was being recruited by Hauck and you saw what an inconsiderate d*ckhe*d he was to the people at the press conference would you send your kid there? I think it most definitely hurts his recruiting.

Exactly right. Bobby being Bobby is a big reason they are getting killed in recruiting which translates to getting dominated on the field.

Listening to today's grz fan pod and this point was brought up. Especially given a kid showing up with a backwards hat was made tp show respect. Then the coaches don't show it to the media.

A coach can do some pretty good PR and recruiting if he uses the press efficiently.

Well I think we can find numerous coaches who do not have a great relationship with the media. A lot who have been very successful. I honestly couldn't tell you what Cat coaches do or don't as I do not follow their program other than from the Griz standpoint. I guess you can watch Vigen and get a chubby during his presser. I will skip it. I am not making excuses about our team or the apparent issues that can be attributed to the coaches. I'm just not concerned about the media as someone who has dealt with them professionally and know how they act as well.

these sports reporters are just simply doing their jobs and don't deserve that horrible attitude and disrespect being shilled out by the head coach of the University of Montana Grizzlies. Its juvenile, immature, repulsive behavior, not indicative of values he preaches to his players.
