Thanks Kids--Griz and Cats Alike

Can't go to the gym. Can't go out to dinner with friends, or up to Sacto to see the Griz, or to a baseball game or an art museum. My sports bar boarded up, surviving on GoFundMe. Haven't seen family or been on a plane in a year. So many favorite restaurants and businesses gone forever. In short, one miserable effing year.

But while I still can catch the Griz on Pluto, I know the price our kids and all kids are paying for this: Stringent health protocols, mask-wearing and sitting apart from teammates at games. Staying two nights in strange towns. Weird starting times. Playing in empty gyms to no fans. Risking their health on planes.

This is not what any of our players or coaches signed up for so let's give a shout out to both our Griz and the Cats for playing this Thursday, a game we're all looking forward to, and for shining this light in a dark time.

It’s a brave new world out there, Citay. Unless you’re in one of the high risk groups, there’s lots of “living” going on out there. Just got back from a 4-day mini-vacay to Cabo. Flew on a plane, saw my brother and his wife, ate out at restaurants, etc., etc. Coming to Montana in March to see my 90-year old father, again flying on a plane, etc., etc.

Anyway, the protocols are all going to be lifted soon....they got their man in the White House, so all is good. Just ask Newsom, Cuomo or Littlefinger (or whatever the Chicago mayor’s name is).

all that being said, here’s a shoutout to the kids. :thumb:

I'm with you on this. I was just thinking the other day about how glad I am to have Griz hoops. The cabin fever in a grey Missoula winter is a bit of a downer in a normal year and the lack of getting together with buddies for a game and a few cold pops sucks. Glad the lads are carrying on under trying circumstances. Playing games at 11am should be outlawed. At my old high school we ex team members always had a scrimmage with the varsity of the day. I know our old coach took perverse pleasure at the hung over college dudes when we went against his boys at 8am on New Years Day.

Phenomenal. hardly any people, no fighting crowds, perfect weather, beaches and bars pretty much empty.

Wear sunblock (especially lips, mine are still sunburned)....drank a shitload of Corona and laid by the pool/beach for 4 days.

How about the bar when you walk out of the terminal (unreal isn't it), still need name of good place, going to Todos eventually.

There’s three different bars where you walk out now...still have to run the gamut of timeshare dipsticks and cabbies. Our party of six stayed at a private residence, rented through VRBO. $1600/night, but we could watch whales from the negative edge pool all day. Came with a chef, maid, whole nine yards. I’m ruined for ever vacationing again.
