Great tailgating and atmosphere. Crowd noise was amazing. Meet some great grizz fans at the tailgate and around the bars. Few clowns around us in the game, but majority were classy ...thanks for a good time

A few clowns are always present. We have idiots up by us that scream on 3rd down...when we have the ball, and curse the officials with great vulgarity anytime they call a penalty on the Griz, oblivious to the fact that the calls are usually correct and that kids are present.

It’s funny how fans from some BSC schools are generally cool (ISU, Poly, Idaho, Sac, Davis, So Utah,NAU, to name a few), while other fan bases seem to have an inordinate number of shitasses (MSU, EWU, PSU). Maybe it’s just my experience.

That fan from PSU is the ONLY fan of PSU. He’s just bored and lonely. You kinda have to be a bit masochistic to root for them...

Blatant pass interference is called on the Griz

Random idiots - "BOOOOOOOOOO. That's horseshit!"

Replay shows corner tackling their receiver

If I remember correctly, we also got away with a pretty blatant one in the first half, too.

I thought there were 2 bad calls against Ida St in the 3d q. A personal foul. I didn't see it, but if was just the late little shove on sideline, then shouldn't have been called. I would have called the PI they waived off, but I talked to some coaches who didn't necessarily agree.

PI is often a tough call for officials. Yesterday in the NFL there were numerous questionable PI calls even after they used instant replay. Then there were some really bad roughing calls to add to it. Steelers and Raiders each had terrible roughing calls that were huge. Raiders still came back to win..Steelers didn't.

Penalties are often too subjective in my view and inconsistently enforced. For example, in the UC Davis game Toure was already well out of bounds and was hit by a defender and thrown back several yards, but no flag was thrown. Then Saturday the ISU receiver had one foot in the white and the other still in the field of play when Dante knocked him out of bounds and got flagged. I don't have an issue with throwing or not throwing the flag, but it needs to be consistent, something the Big Sky has problems with.

I am no expert but it seems to me that if a flag is at all questionable they should just wave it off. Better a no call than a bad call.

Or how last year in the Brawl when Sammy got leveled when he was two steps out of bounds and no call. That no call allowed the Cats to score right before halftime. Also on Saturday on a punt on the ISU sidelines one of the ISU guy's was trying to pull Jerry's helmet off when the play was over and they were both standing out of bounds. One of the only times I have seen Jerry start to go after someone.

Calls go both ways almost every game. Some have little impact some have huge impact. I thought Id St reacted very undisciplined multiple times that resulted in PF calls that really hurt them by extending Griz drives. I think they were somewhere around 11 penalties for 121 yards. That's big. I'll bet Phen Phen is pissed.

The call on Dante was justified IMO.

But, the Dude had 18 tackles so..........

Being a ref is a hard job. I try not to judge them too much. Even the NFL refs make some crazy calls.

And the college guys sure as HELL don't do it for the money and expense account. I have a 1st cousin who officiated (multiple amateur sports) for many years ... a retired Marine (there are no EX-Marines, really), so you can bet he didn't take NO S**T from anybody. He loved doing something important that gave him a reason to stay in shape. But without his retirement pay (officer, but a copter pilot), he would have still needed a "day job" to make ends meet.

Officials in the NFL make decent money, but -- considering the stakes involved and what the players and coaches make -- I would not consider them "well paid."
