How can you "build something" your very first season? You need time to recruit and develop your players. 3-5 years at a minimum. Jeez, this is crazy talk.
Its his 2nd year.
Having the time of his life at his Alma Mater, and it shows.
I got $100 he stays in Davis until the end.
He was 5-6 in his frst year.
a better team and record than the year before he took over.
I stated before that this year is the first year UCD has had a winning record since 2010. Hawkins is getting it done in year two. #6 this week.

I was in your stadium Saturday! It was one of the best football environments I've ever been in! Absolutely the loudest! You fans were the nicest people I've ever encountered! I enjoyed tailgates & friendly greetings all day! I'm an Aggie fan!! But I'll be rooting for the Grizzlies when we dont play eachother!!
Thank you & Good Luvk!

I have no doubt it was a better atmosphere than the game at Stanford. The alumni have really bailed on the Cardinal and the crowd sitting on its hands Saturday night watching an excellent WSU team was embarrassingly dinky. Even the scatter band, which I remember fondly from the years when daughter was playing trumpet, lacked energy.

The moment they announced Hawkins as the coach, I knew he was gonna build something there and I was worried.

But he didn't inherit a team that had won 7 games the year before.
