Taylor and now Coleman

I don't see many excuses here. It's a max (and safe) 15-20 minute walk to ANY dorm or U-area apartment in this tiny town. Beyond that, c'mon... there are a few (very well known) major "red flag" establishments that even the most party-hearty student-athletes should consider "attractive nusiances." This is no-brainer stuff that needs to be addressed over the summer.

I've walked many times while in various states of intoxication during trips to Missoula. The city of Missoula is spread out but it's not like LA or Phoenix big.

A 30 minute walk in the cold usually won't hurt you in Missoula.

For real. I've walked many a time from Aber Hall downtown or even over to the Main Mall Shopping area and get some shopping done along the way; good way for some, including athletes, to get some exercise in.

Correct, no cabs. Call a Missoula cab company between midnight and 2AM, they will tell you it is at least an hour wait. We've even tried to call Taxi's and they never showed up. There is a serious lack of taxi's and other forms of public transportation in Missoula. Saying that campus is only a 15 minute walk from downtown is irrelevant as most students old enough to drink no longer live on campus.

Should these guys be more responsible, yes, but acting like it is easy to get a taxi ride home in Missoula is a lie. Ask any student.

I live on the Missoula southside and see a cab perhaps once a month -- really. I used to have a friend who lived here in town who was unable to drive due to vision problems; I have no idea how many times she called me to beg a ride, say for doctor's appointment, after she had waited an hour or more for a cab that never came.

Back to what someone said. Maybe it's time to pull some scholarships. It opens up the opportunity to get another big guy. We don't need any more small forwards-under-the-influence.

One will likely be pulled with the xfr of Martin Breunig. In case you missed it, the GRIZ landed him. :thumb: I don't see how the GRIZ could have gotten him without pulling one. The GRIZ have 4 new recruits and only lost 2 SR's. Somebody will not be a GRIZ next year, unless somehow they convince one of them to stay as a walk on.

Breunig is a transfer so nobody's scholarship will be pulled he has to sit out a year

He still needs a scholarship to pay for his school. I doubt a player of his level would be going anywhere without a scholarship.

You need to post more. Admitting things here is difficult for some. :thumb:
Hope to see you post more. Your comment made me laugh.

I would hate to be anyone on this team, and have to answer up to Wayne.

Oh Good Lord.... How many times in the past have we all heard how hard it would be to answer to Wayne??... How many times on this very forum has someone said how tough Wayne is and how disciplined of a program he runs??... How many times has someone commented how afraid the players are of Wayne??...

Well obviously the players are not afraid of him.... OBVIOUSLY the players are not worried what might happen to their scholarships.... OBVIOUSLY the players could care less about the reputation that they continue exact on the once proud UM....

You "Fans" created this prima donna atmosphere...

Ya you are right.... who in their right mind could question the undeniable fact that Wayne has his team afraid of his every move... who could even question the discipline that is on obvious display....

You keep making excuses for the team and the team will continue to live up to your "high" expectations...

I think (and heard) Coleman will be shown the road.

Is that what the student athlete code of conduct dictates? If so, is this setting a precedent that all second offenses will result in dismissal? Are there other factors involved?

You are entitled to your opinion. I know damn sure you have not vested the time, and effort in this program than I have. Since LK took over, I spent many summer days working GRIZ summer camps, for LK and Wayne. I am fortunate to have gotten to know them well, as coaches and people. I have seen Wayne upset over much more minor things than these situations. I am sure he handled these situations with class, and understanding. I am also sure, he takes every mistake made by players personally. He is a father figure to his players. He sets a family atmosphere, not only for his team, but the athletic department. Anytime an athlete, or school personnel goes through a set back, he is there encouraging them. Hell, the man has taken time to encourage a few times through hard times. Did he have to? Hell no, but he did. He cares about everything and everyone that is GRIZ NATION.

There is not a more encouraging and caring coach, or person at Montana than Wayne Tinkle. Like his kids, he has high expectations on and off the field of his players. 1 bad off season does not change who he is. Team image is very important to Wayne. I 100% sure Wayne is taking this challenge head on, and the reigns will be tightened. The statement will be made by his choice of who to release from scholarship. I would not be surprised if he limits the players living accommodations as well, at the minimum those who screwed up recently.

Damn right, I am calling you out on your BS. Cannot let you, or anyone tarnish a good man's image and hard work. Feel free to come back here, if this crap continues under Wayne Tinkle's watch.

  ... You, or someone like you said the same thing when Coleman was nabbed the 1st time... Then, You or someone like you said the same thing when Hendo was pinched... Then You, or someone like you said the same thing when Cherry appeared before the bench.... How many "if this continues under Wayne's watch..." lines in the sand do you get to draw??

ALL OF THIS CONTINUED UNDER HIS WATCH.... what part of that is difficult for you to understand...

When a full 1/3 of your team has faced problems with the police (some on multiply occasions), one has to look in the mirror and decide to make some changes... So don't feed me your BS about how Wayne has this under control.... the police blotter week after week tells us otherwise...
