Interesting take. If Missoula is so great, why is Fargo four times as big?

Cardinal Bison, I don't think you really want to get into the obesity discussion.
Just a suggestion. :ugeek:

Who said anything about obesity? I though we were talking about manhoods.

I went to the game in Fargo last year. I brought 4- 6 packs of moose drool to the tailgate and handed 1 bottle to every tailgate I passed by. I was down to 4 bottles, before I was offered to join a tailgate. I was quite astounded that it took that long that a Griz clad fan passing out the flavor of the Big Sky wasn't offered a plate of food or a sample of their beer! Bison fans were curious as to how Griz tailgating compared to theirs. I replied we had just as festive and even larger than the one in Fargo. The only main difference we had more than 3 trees in our immediate view, we were surrounded by multiple mountains within a few rock throws away, we were on grass not asphalt and a gorgeous river was a few feet away from our tailgates. Any fan who wears opposing colors at the Griz tailgates are waved into multiple locations so much so that there are tailgates next to each other fighting over said fans. The only thing that wowed me about NDSU tailgates was the expense that is spent on graphics for their motor coaches showing Bison colors, the size of their women and the crap beer they drink.

When my wife and I went WaGriz in August, our experience was that we literally had to stick our head under the canopy and ask what was cooking, so I call BS on your tailgaters fighting over opposing fans. Was astounded how late many of your tailgaters showed up.

Many of our tailgaters have to drive up to 10 hours to get to a game within the state of Montana, so it takes a while to get to the games. Motels were not an option for Friday night because people come to Montana to actually see the beautiful scenery, so motels were booked solid. ESPN crew had to stay over an hour away and bus to the game Saturday morning. Most people who went to the game from out of town left early that morning and traveled as far as 500 miles each way to get to the game on time. Missoula is 1/4 the population of Fargo and it was a Holiday weekend so many people were camping. So the 300k+ people that are within 100 miles of the Fargo dome can be there in just over 1 hour. It's a way different and better life style here in Montana than in Nodak.

Why it is interesting to read the who is better at offering at tailgates argument. I for one can say, that when the Bison came to Missoula in August, I had many Bison fans at my tailgate enjoying beverages and snacks before the game, halftime and at the end of game...If you came to Missoula and didn't get invited to a tailgate, then I must say BS! I invited every Bison fan who was coming to Missoula to come to my tailgate...Made some good friends with you guys and wish I could come to Fargo...however, a memorial is more important than this game to me...

Looks a lot like Montana before a game. That converted (fire?) truck with the bar stools is awesome!

Just walk around the tailgate lot with your Griz stuff on and you will get plenty of free booze and food offered up to ya! Have a safe trip out here.....should be a great game and atmosphere! If any Griz fans have any questions about the tailgate or places to eat, drink etc....fire away.

Why does Montana as a whole have 300,000 more people than NoDak?

I just watched Maryland @ UNC in CBB. Interesting to note that more people attended that game than will attend the Fargo Shed on Saturday. I got a hunch, so I did some quick recon. Sure enough, there is one CBB venue that holds more than WaGriz (the dual purpose Carrier Dome at Syracuse). There are, however, numerous CBB venues that hold much more than the Shed.

If we needed more evidence that we will have to play in a CBB venue (albeit a good one) on Saturday, I think this is it.
