T. McKinney hurt?

I felt the same way. He immediately took a good blow to the head on an unnecessary QB-keeper.

Seems fine though, big relief.

The TV didn't show the hit... But after several times getting the wind knocked out of me, I agree, that's probably what happened... I hope that's it, as T looks like a dynamic can do anything QB... Looks to be a good year... Cheers, Bitches :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

There was absolutely no reason to put him back in, nor keep Moore in.
+1

It was foolish to have him in there that late in the game, especially QB keepers.

Spread option QBs have to take hits. You don't really practice that (for obvious reasons) and he has to learn it somewhere, somehow. And yes, there is "learning to take hits". Things like wrapping up the ball and getting low to avoid the big hit are also a couple of things that have to be done in a real game. Plus he is going to have to run at times this year. In a game against a "modest" opponent is as good a time as any. It was a calculated risk but certainly one that Mick was considering as the time ran down.

Of course there was a reason, the question is just was it worth the risk. Before Saturday, TM had never taken a college snap. He's on a crash course in D1 QB 101; the Griz have some tough games coming up in the next few weeks and he needs all the experience he can get. Also, the Griz were ahead by 11, not 31, and we had already shown our ability to come up with costly mistakes. Had AB performed better in his one series, maybe he would have had the confidence of the coaches to stay in. I was relieved to see TM come right back in. I don't think he's as fragile as some seem to think.

We've got great coaches; let's let them coach.
