Sweet 16 match up of ALLATOONA AT #2 MLK
ALLATOONA opens up with a nice long 6 minute drive,on 3rd and goal from the 5 perfect pas dropped a TD as he would have walked right in,Bucs salvage the FG for 3-0 lead. MLK drives bal but undiscipline play in Bucs territory ultimate leads to a punt. Bucs take it down and stall but get a 36 yard fg 6-0 in 2nd qtr with 4 minutes till half.
Mlk Drives down hits a 19 yard TD pass. xtra point blocked 6-6.MLK shuts down the Bucs and gets the ball back.The drive and hit a 29 yard TD pass with 31 seconds left. on the extra point theres a 5 yard penalty. Then hi snap so MLK goes to the half with 12-6.
After exchange of possesions MLK drives to 49. BAM QB CRUSHED as he throws but he connects on TD pass and MLK goes up 19-6 with 354 ta go in 3rd. Allatoona stalls at thier own 48 and have a 4th and 13 and line up to punt,MLK jumps offsides now its 4th and 8 at MLK 47 and COACH Varner shows the GUTS that griz coach MD never has had in his life. down to 1;28 left in 3rd and HS is 12 minute quarters he GOES FOR it as you need to TAKE championships as they are not just given to you. They a HUGE 12 yard pass. They get it to the 14 and have a 4th and 8, on first play of the 4th the sae kid who dropped the first qtr TD and others comes up clutch with a beautiful 14 yard TD to pull within 19-13.
Allatoona forces punt but then is shutdown and with 8 minutes left ALLATOONA punts it away. MLK squeezes out a first down then on 3rd and 2 from own 40 juo so its 4th and 7.. BUCS D forces punt
ALLATOONA gets ball back own 27 3;54 ta go. a huge 3rd and 12 they hit 15 yard pass. up to the run and pass as unlike delaney the mighty bucs dont panic and try to adjust. ultiately on the 38 yard line a TD PASS The ALLATOONA BUCS go up 20-19 but its not over with 1:27 left..
MLK returns kickoff to own 27. First play BAM to the Bucs 45and a phantom head shot puts MLK to the 30. The clock runs down to 36 seconds as a 9 yard pass to hthe 21, then BAM QB gets lit up BUT gets the pass off but ALLATOONA PICK IT OFF at own 5!!!! GAME NOT OVER AS MLK has 3 timouts left...

Side note RB Beatiste will ultimately be Great and is a sophomore who ran for over 1000 yards this year. MLK fast defense was known by Coach Varner to be a bad match up with Beatiste. So he stuck with Herron the Senior 1300 yard back for all the game. It was tested and Herron was the better matchup. SO Guts before and during the Game Led the ALLATOONA BUCS to pull the the upset and advance to the ELITE 8!!!!! Heres to Coach VARNER being GRIZ coach in 2-3 years. OUR ALLATOONA BUCS SURVIVE AND ADVANCE!!!!!!
