Support the Grizzly Marching Band!

I'm not sure that many of you know the amount of work that these students put into their shows. The 130 or so students & supporting staff show up a full week before school starts (student staff even earlier) to begin practicing music, fundamentals, & their first of several shows. These students spend several hours every Monday, Wednesday, & Friday working on their show for the upcoming week. All of these students are practicing in the stadium on game day during the wee hours of the morning & stay long after the game is over.

Many of these students have never marched, or even played with a group as large or talented as the Grizzly Marching Band. Some of these students are learning an instrument completely new to them so that they can be part of the GMB.

So, as a former member, a Montana Grizzly fan, & UM Alumni - I am asking you to support these individuals.

How can you do that you ask?

Stay & watch at half time. Even if it is only for a game or two. Attend some university band concerts. Many of the concerts & recitals are free or extremely cheap & all funds go towards funding & supporting the music programs at the University of Montana.

I know that the students who work so hard, & spend so much time preparing their shows would be THRILLED to see more people watching the band at half time.
