Stupid things of the day

The other stupid thing of the day involves a video put out by MSU. I posted it in the MSU game thread but wasn't sure who would see it so I thought I'd repost it here.

The cats are winning all the awards and they are bragging about their big time FBS win like they beat Alabama. You just can't make this stuff up. These people should be embarrassed but they're too dumb to be embarrassed I guess.

You seem stressed.

You seem stressed.

I don’t know about stressed. Maybe he is, but I don’t think it is over a Bobcat team. One that barely squeaked out a victory over a team that is picked second to last in their conference and who has a new head coach. A win is a win, so congrats. I wouldn’t expect a fan base to not be excited about beating an FBS opponent. It is a good look for the BSC. Makes me really wonder though. What would moving up look like? Would it be like the BSC? Pretty much two or three teams competing for the title each year? If they added playoffs would the Cats and Griz be in a better position? NMS did not leave my mouth watering. Still, I would lean towards moving up if they added playoffs for several tiers of FBS. Right now you have garbage bowl games and some garbage programs. Glad the Griz are in the FCS right now. Cats got a win and a bunch of award this week. Congrats.

I don't think it should be overlooked that Bozeman State decided to use footage of an inspirational quote from a fictional METH DEALER in this video. It's very on-brand for them, only their meth dealers on staff weren't fictional.

As was stated earlier, "A win is a win ..." . But, and to me it is a big but(t), when your team is favored by as many as 13 and you win by 4 in the final 10 seconds it is not a reason to celebrate. It is an embarrassing Omen! As they say Damien is in the details! 😊

I don’t know why we get so fixated on the spread and underperforming. We consistently underperformed a lot in relation to the spread last year including into the playoffs and still had a damn good year.

Now I would say the criticism is warranted. We heard all camp about an improved passing game and all the work they were doing to keep Tommy healthy, only to have them abandon the plan in the second half to double down on the running game. They made a lot of mistakes, and at the end of the day they escaped with a win d/t some big mistakes from a bad New Mexico squad, and some monster individual efforts in that last 10% of the game. Their defense was underwhelming, but made some stops and were going against a team with a new coach and no film. The next few games will likely not tell us much about their team until Mid October or even Mid November. I don’t see anyone really testing their mettle again until Idaho or Davis. Cats will likely be a 0 or 1 loss team heading into the brawl. That Davis game will tell us a lot of the aggies are still healthy by that time.
