When you hear the term 'Strong Side' mentioned in football, it is referring to the side that the tight end is positioned on. Thus, when you hear them say 'Strong side linebacker', it is referring to the linebacker who covers the tight end. Same thing goes for the safeties. It has nothing to do with the relative strengths of the guards and tackles.
As for which side you run the ball to, it depends on the relative strengths of your opponents D-linemen as they match up with your own O-linemen. All of that changes as players come in and go out, the offensive formation and the defensive formation. Blocking patterns change as the defenders shift. O-linemen have blocking assignments and defenders do everything they can to screw that up and create confusion along the O-line. Coaches make ingame changes based on what they see the other team doing and what they feel will work for them. :thumb:
