Streaming question

GBM- I'm not sure what us going on there. I also don't think I understand your configuration. Do you have a cable line bringing your internet into your house?

I have a small antenna on my roof. The line comes from there into my house and plugs into a small, black, electrified box. An Ethernet cable goes from that box directly into my computer (or to the router, but I have it going directly to the computer for now to eliminate the router as the cause of the problem). The source of the signal (the wireless broadband provider's equipment) is at my neighbor's house, less than 500 feet away.

So the equipment at your neighbors house transmits a signal to your antenna and then from there it is hard wired to your box? I guess I wouldn't be surprised that your signal fluctuates but that doesn't explain why you aren't having problems with the other streams you are tapping. Maybe, like someone said above, your browser isn't agreeing with Eversport (I use Safari) or possibly eversport can only handle so much traffic and since you don't have a strong internet source, 5 Mbps and transmitted from neighbors, you get out competed by others closer to the source (eversport) or with better internet.

Man, any time you deal with wireless internet (no, not wireless from your router, I mean wireless ISP) it's a complete crapshoot. My sister has a wireless ISP as she has no other option where she lives. It's so hit or miss. However, I had her set up a geniego so I could watch the games that were on root sport. I stream from that device at her house across MT to my house (I have charter) and it runs surprisingly well considering her reliability is shit. The quality ain't great due to the bandwidth, but I won't complain. That said, it is odd that these games are the only ones that give you grief.

I will add that I think the quality of eversport is lacking. I hope it gets better but I miss what bigskytv had become.

Peaux, are you in MT? Is there a part of MT that charter doesn't carry ROOT?

Yep, in enemy territory. I don't pay for TV. We do cable internet and I have a big ol' antenna for OTA TV. I don't miss cable outside of a few sporting events.

So you stream TV shows? I guess that's the future. Wouldn't bother me spending less money on TV.

Stream or don't watch at all. Amazing what I am not missing without cable! Ha! Seriously don't miss cable (or dish for that matter.)

I will say that a few friends and myself go in on NBA league pass and I did pay for a month subscription to sling last year during the NBA playoffs. Aside from sports, I try not to spend money on TV.

Thanks for the suggestion -- I will try another browser; had not thought of that. We are SO grateful to have anything beyond dial-up or satellite Internet here in the sticks and SO grateful to be able to stream anything that I can't complain about this service (WISPWest), but it's a bummer that the only thing we can't stream is the one thing we wanted most to stream!! Thanks again so much for everyone's help. If a different browser works, I'll report!
