Andrew Strait is in some pretty good company.
Montana's senior center has been named to collegeinsider.com's preseason Mid-Major All-America men's basketball team.
Division I coaches and NBA scouts are part of the selection process, but the final decision on the 25-member team is made by the staff at collegeinsider.com.
Strait, a two-time all-Big Sky Conference pick, averaged 15.0 points and 6.4 rebounds last season for the Griz, who finished the year at 17-15 overall.
“It doesn't mean a whole lot to me,” said Strait, the only Big Sky player chosen to the team. “I'd much rather be on the postseason team.
“It's nice to hear and it's nice to get that recognition, but it kind of goes in one ear and out the other.”
Way to go Andrew, have a great season and surpass these expectations.
