Let me tell you, being always afraid afraid afraid can ruin life, suck every bit of joy out of any enterprise, any pursuit--especially one like basketball that should be the playground of life.
I have a nice thriving business, and one regret: That I spent so much time worrying about everything that might go wrong--and never really did. Sure, I had problems and obstacles, but that's what business is about--solving problems. The problem arose, I solved it.
I've been a Griz fan for a good while now, and it's been one of the most pleasurable pursuits in my life. Through the years we've had ups and downs, winning seasons and losing seasons, good coaches and not-so-good coaches, and most especially, new coaches. Thus it is, and always will be. That just goes with being a Montana fan. One coach walks out the door, another is crawling in through the window. In the most recent case, a better one did.
But, p-u-l-e-a-s-e, let's enjoy the ride without the constant fear: We don't have any money! Enrollment is declining! The coach is leaving! He's taking our best recruits! The Sky is falling!
If you believe only the paranoid survive, go work in Silicon Valley. Otherwise you'll suck every bit of joy out of what should be a great fun ride in the playground of life, being a Griz fan.
