This team is going to just keep climbing week to week. They will play their best in late November and December, schedules matter.

For a conference that some fans consider sub-par, the pollsters sure do see it otherwise.

Notable points:
Right away the pollsters conceded that the kitties were “this close” to winning against SDSU.

Because they didn’t punish Furman for their lose as much as I expected, the Griz only nudged up one … which is fine with me. On the other hand, they absolutely crushed Samford for their lost to an unranked conference opponent. I knew the Bulldogs would drop, but … ten spots? Ouch.

On the flip side, they gave Southern Illinois a huge boost (up nine spots) for their win over “FBS” Northern Illinois. Not quite sure why. They won by just a FG, over a mediocre-to-crappy MAC team. Oh well, the Salukis are in the MVFC.

Another small surprise was that Youngstown State hung on in the top-25. Usually, when you’re #25 and lose, you’re gone. But given the opponent (FBS #5 Ohio State), the pollsters just ignored it … which is legit IMO.

But – Hallelujah! – they did see fit to bump Northern Iowa out of the top-25. Of course, they’ll likely jump right back in after they feast on Idaho State next weekend. Still, the Ben-gals have managed to score 28 points in each of their losses to FBS opponents, so maybe it won’t be a complete walkover.

the pollsters must have respected youngstown because even tho Ohio State only beat them 35-7 and Youngstown held Ohio State to 7 points the second half they did not really drop Ohio state in the polls dropped 2 in AP and stayed the same in coaches at 4. Alabama loosing to a 11th ranked Texas dropped a bunch.
