STATS Game of the Week: You Guessed It

Let's review the Pity Kitty games since conference play began this year:
  • Northern Arizona: NAU has them down 31 - 14, but let's them back in the game. Still down 31-28 in the 4th Quarter, the Cats manage a comeback win of 49-31. NAU is 2-5 in Big Sky Conference play, tied for second to worst;
    Cal Poly: Cal Poly is down 28-7 at the end of the 3rd Quarter; score 3 TD's in the 4th Quarter to tie it up with 7:05 to play. Cats pull out the win in overtime 34-28. Cal Poly is the worst team in the Big Sky Conference with a 1-6 record.
    Sacramento State: Cats lose 34-21.
    North Dakota:( Cats lose 16-12.
    Southern Utah: Cats have a big margin of victory, 42-7, against a team tied for the second to worst record in the Big Sky Conference with a 2-5 record.
    Northern Colorado: Cats have another big margin of victory, 45-14, against another team tied for the second to worst BSC record at 2-5.
    UC Davis: Cats once again enter the 4th Quarter behind, 14-7. They finally go ahead in the 4th Quarter for a 27-17 win.

I'm going to be surprised if this is a one point game.

Cats had Poly down 28-7 and Poly scored 3 td's to force OT. Cats won in OT.

I stand corrected. And I'll correct the summary. Point is, Cats still needed OT to beat the worst team in the BSC.

Agreed. In this rivalry, if the neighbors win, they win close and if the Griz win, they win going away. I'm hoping it'll be the latter this time around. Go Griz!

And yet according to them we've "struggled" against a bunch of bad teams before eking out wins in the second half. I'm not making that up.

You have to be making that up. Not even pity kitty fans could be that ignorant.

Pity Kitty fans seem to agree it's not going to be close. On BobCatNation, during the Davis game, this was posted: "Even if the Cats eek this out, next week is really going to suck."

I don't recall UM "struggling" in any game this season. Didn't play very well against SS, who played great, and got thumped. Closest win was 14 over SD in first game of season. Average margin of victory has been 25.6, if I calculated correctly.

The Cats have struggled in various of their games, tho.

Yeah, it's pretty clear most of them didn't watch any Griz games this year, or were too blinded by their pee colored glasses to see them objectively. They certainly had a tendency to get down by a touchdown or two against teams they shouldn't, but after that they absolutely steamrolled them.
