STATS FCS Poll, Oct 02 ( Griz #17)

Poll is out. Griz nudged up one. The pollsters rewarded South Dakota big time. Then they absolutely crushed the CAA, with three teams dropping completely out. Two of those teams did lose, but Rhode Island won handily. Don't think I've ever seen that before. (Expected the losers to drop, but not all the way out.)

Until the Griz beat someone of note or stop eking out wins over the bottom tier, that’s not likely to change.

Of course UNI is still somehow getting votes. William and Mary is probably a bit higher than they should be.

Seeing as we often benefit from branding and name recognition, I'm not going to complain about UNI being in that boat too

This is about what I’d think, the argument could be made to bump EWU up. I think they’ll finish top 16. USD should be top 15 after NDSU. NDSU shouldn’t drop too far after getting handed one of their 16 losses since what? 2012? I do believe they needed to be outside the top 5, 7 is appropriate. Who’s going to argue that WM or Delaware beat them? Maybe UIW can. UM should be around 20 still until they beat someone noteworthy. Wonder if SS is really top 5. We will see. Good to see MSU @2 . They control their destiny to have the playoffs at home!

I say we need to send a copy of the polls to UC Davis. They will then roll over, wave a white flag and surrender. We get the win and don't have to leave town. After all, the polls are always correct, right? :thumb:

I expect them to roll over about like NAU did.

I agree. SIU vs USD on 11/4, could be a good one.

Huge gap in points between UND and Montana, as a UND follower I think they are rated too high. Maybe 20th. The SDSU score wasn’t indicative of the game. It wasn’t close. They lose to NDSU, UNI, and USD, they will end up with 5 losses missing the playoffs

Griz need this game to stay in the top 20, especially with Idaho next week. Two losses and they may out of the top 25. Hard to come back from that.
