Starting The ESPN Petition

When will the petition start and the harassment of ESPN begin for televising the playoffs on ESPN3?
Was it 2 years ago when this happened? I've got my bases covered now with a subscription to ESPN3 and of course my great seats at Wa-Griz.

I can't help but think how that battle with ESPN might have hurt Griz Nation. We get no love from ESPN at all. Not that we had a lot of mention to begin with or any at all, but you'd think if we didn't piss them a few years ago they might mention us along with NDSU. Man, they have a hard-on for those guys.

Here's one vote for ROOT sports to take over FCS playoff broadcasts, at least for the earlier rounds. I'm really impressed with the quality of their work this season.

On December 7th, watch at Wa-Griz. The 14th will be broadcast by ESPN something or another but not ESPN 3

I think espn would do good with what they did in 2011 when they put the games on pay-per-view. Montana fans who dont have access to espn3 are willing to pay to watch them... And word had it the were a lot of people outside the state of montana who watched that.....

December 7th is either in person or with ESPN3. Personally i think this hurts local sports bars as many of them dont have internet connections, or if the do, it would be difficult to get the broadcast to all the tvs. I personally think this is an example of the Corporate only looking at money. ESPN3 is ESPN's online stream service. Many people in montana outside the cities dont have internet connections fast enough to handle the video. But we arent considered a big market for the FCS so unless we go deep in the playoffs, nothing gets televised on regular tv (ESPN, ESPN2 , Pay-per-view etc) for more than just charter and 3 rivers customers.

ESPN runs sports in this country. Accept it. Acknowledge it and deal with it. What you want isn't even on their radar.

It is a matter of time before ESPN and/or FOX split into additional channels for coverage of large conference athletics, mid major, and small college athletics. Hell with the way the internet is expanding, they may offer an internet only subscription package with diverse coverage. The technology is there. Hell, I'd rather pay for that than cable or satellite channels I never watch.

So last night I decided to try setting up my ESPN3/Watch ESPN apps on my phone, iPad and laptop. I ran into several issues and between calling ESPN & Charter/Optimum, here is what I came up with.

-Currently through the Montana version of Charter/Optimum, you can only watch certain shows that are ESPN3 programs from the Watch ESPN website on your laptop (which will include playoff games). You do not click the blue Watch Now button, just click the Watch Live link next to the game you want. Worked for some basketball games last night.

-If you try watching anything like MNF or any programs from your phone, iPad from the Watch ESPN app or through the website, Charter/Optimum does not currently have that service. According to the rep at Charter/Optimum, she said they are trying to get it by next year. It also appears replays of ESPN3 programs do not work without a log in.

-Long story short, it appears your best bet to get it to work is to be on a computer, go through the regular website, and just click the Watch Live link on an individual game.

If anyone has any other info about how to get the service to work on your phone or iPad, I would appreciate it. I will be going to the game next weekend, but would like to watch some of the games this weekend.

Petition is already going. Here is the facebook one :https://www.facebook.com/events/1479409388951063/?source=1
By selecting going to this event, you are simply just signing your name to the stand against ESPN that will benefit sports bars and others on non-charter internet. It was this event 2 years ago that garnered us national attention and we need to do it again.

Fot those not on facebook, here is a copy of the online petition : http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/petition-for-espn-to-air-2013-fcs-football" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I have Charter up here, which was Optimum last year. Last year couldn't get it.
Tonight I tried it, watched the South Carolina v CC replay in AWESOME quality
Also watched the Sam Houston vs SMU game live just to confirm. Very Cool!
