This is pretty cool, never mind that Tink's daughter plays at Stanford. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Friends in high places

Montana coach Wayne Tinkle received a message from Stanford women's basketball coach Tara VanDerveer on Monday, offering the use of her practice facility both Tuesday and Wednesday.

She even threw in an offer for a meal.

Tinkle's oldest daughter, Joslyn, is a freshman on the second-ranked Stanford team.

Montana's only official practice in San Jose's HP Pavilion will be Wednesday at 6:40 p.m. local time.

The Griz will fly out of Missoula by charter on Tuesday at 10 a.m. and arrive in San Jose before noon

That's pretty cool. It's only something like 15 miles from Palo Alto to San Jose. It will nice for the team to get a little shoot around or practice in today..

This is great -- best way to stay loose.

BUT: Cripes, I hope this doesn't violate some obscure, dumbass NCAA rule.

Just sayin'. :?:

As long as the NCAA gets its several billion dollars from its tv contract for the Big Dance spectacular, and the players who actually put on the show don't get a dime for their efforts, there should be no problem.

Don't get a dime? But do get an education, free travel, free food, free motels, 4 years traveling the country & I am sure some do get free tutoring & a career when they are done - maybe we should throw in a dime as well!

The NCAA doesn't pay a nickel of it (or should I say dime).

I give a bundle to Stanford each year...nice to see it finely going to a good cause....maybe it is Stanford's way of thanking UM for the Tinker girl, and Mike M.

Maybe the Griz mens team will scrimmage Stanfords womens team? I got money on Stanford
